Although I'll be spending most of my time Downtown, I'd be curious to find out how much you have to bet at the various sports books around town to get a drink ticket.

I remember a few years ago at the El Cortez, a $40 minimum bet scored you one drink ticket.

Downtown is much more cooperative for drink tickets than on the strip. $40 should get you a ticket. Heck, on the strip I put down a 500 wager on a game last march and had to ask for 2 tickets. Let me know how your make out please!

A few years ago at the Venetian I was told a 100 bucks would get one drink ticket. I can remember back in the early 90's betting some books where a cocktail waitress come around offering comped drinks no questions asked. Unfortunately the good old days are gone.

I usually get offered drinks just sitting in the sports book watching a game. Maybe I just look thirsty and generous.

tip the writer 5 bucks when you place that bet, just make sure there isnt a suit around and watch those 2 drink tickets become 7 or 8.

A little unrelated but a $10 Keno ticket gets you a drink ticket at Gold Coast.

I always end up with them and end up giving them away to obvious tourists at the Rio sportsbook bar..I make a couple bets (small)..Sometimes I ask the writer other times they just recognize me over the years..I'm getting comped playing VP anyway,so better if someone can get a comped drink than paying for it off the street.
Cool thing about Vegas I love..new friends made and one goal is to take what you can get out of the casino by the rules..

Superbowl weekend I made 4 or 5 bets. Only one clerk offered without me asking. That was a very nice lade at LINQ. PH, and Westgate nothing w/out me asking. THese were all $100 bets.

At MGM, it was $100 sports bet for a drink coupon and you always had to ask for one, they wouldn't just give it to you. For horse bets I think it was one drink for every $10 in race wagers... they didn't give coupons, the drink girl would just mark down on our tickets that we got a drink.

^this! just make a few couple dollar bets on horses and they give you a bunch of drink tix. Sports books have cut back and requires more per bet. Bellagio used to be free drinks without even betting or giving a ticket but they cut that out a few years ago since I think a lot of ppl took advantage of it.

I was sitting at the Edgewater sportsbook back in November and there were a bank of video poker machines behind me.A little old lady was playing 5 cent machine for a few hours with maybe 20 credits at the most. She was asked at least 20 times or more if she wanted a drink. Just for fun when she came by me she asked cocktails and I said can I have a club soda at that point I had been playing the horses the same amount of time and bet a couple of hundred bucks and all my tickets were in full view of the girl, and she asked me do you have a drink ticket. I said no but here are all my tickets[I was playing dumb just to see what would happen] she says you have to get a ticket. So I asked the ticket writer and it was 50 bucks a bet.Wow when I go to Vegas I always just by my own drinks pepsi or coffee from somewhere. My buddy has done the old go to a slot machine trick put 50 cents in a penny machine and wait for the girl to come by.

If you don't know anything about horse betting. Just do a couple dollar win or win/ place bets on the favorite horses. You're not gonna win anything big but at least you are increasing your chances of getting your money back and getting free drinks.

Hi guys, I'm new to sports betting. Why do casinos make it hard to get a drink when you have to tip the CW anyway? I can go up to a craps table and get a free drink within 5 minutes.
