    Hey folks...

Planning my next trip for May/June, called CET and have an offer for 3 nites comp'd at eithr Caesar's (Roman) or Harrah's (I imagine this may be available at any of the properties) the only difference is paying for Saturday night.

Would you all spend the extra to stay at Caesar's vs Harrah's...$360 vs $60!!!

I had a blast staying at Caesar's in October, I thought it was a great place, I was in the Forum tower then (I think..?? elevators just past Gordon Ramsey Pub??), and had a nice room, great location in the Casino, easy walk to TAG for VP and craft beer, easy walk to other spots too...love the exercise facility and pool

Are they all up to date rooms in Roman or have they not been updated? (you can see the room I had here https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?113139-10-17-10-21-Caesar-s-Palace-VP-Porn-First-Royal!)

    a. keep Caesar's
    b. Take Harrah's
    c. find out my offer at Paris and then make a choice?

Interested in your opinions...thanks in advance

I wouldn't pay more money for a roman tower room. I generally won't even take a comp for the Roman Tower unless I thought I had a easy shot at an upgrade at check in. The Roman Tower rooms have not all been completely updated. Some have been touched recently and some have not. Even the updated ones are not what I would call luxury accommodations. This is a situation where I would pay the cheapest rate I could for Saturday and move to CP for the rest of the trip.

I guess it depends on what you like. We don't even step foot in Caesars anymore. We don't like all the walking involved and their casino doesn't have the machines we like. That is just us...your wants and tastes could be different. We are casino hopping rats...we enjoy nothing more than quick access to the sidewalk. You have been there many times, check out youtube videos of the roman tower rooms if that is what they are offering you for that rate. In the past which place did you enjoy the most? Dining, shows in the area you plan to checkout? I don't mind Harrahs but I think I will vote C, see what Paris has to offer

Caesars is too spread out for us and only gamble there once during our week long trips.....Harrah's had made some improvements recently and has a great location. What can you get at Bally's or Paris? I would check on those....

It would be a no brainer for me..... Harrah's for sure. I tired Caesars once, not a fan. As others said too spread out, too far from strip, and I didn't like the food and bev choices inside. Give Bally's/Paris a look before you book. That is where I have settled after trying nearly all the CET props (full discolsure, I did not try Imperial Palace).

The only time I stayed at Harrah's some years ago it was a clean, averaged sized hotel/motel room. I was about as far from the elevators, casino and strip as you can get, but that is probably still a lot closer than any of the Caesar's towers. If you just want a good center strip place to sleep, that's a very good deal. I can't comment much on Caesar's except to say it appears to be catering more to non-gamblers these days. High table minimums, tight machines, slow beverage service (they want you to frequent their over priced bars, I expect).

But, things change fast in Vegas. I haven't been in almost two years, owing to several things. What I remember could be outdated. But I don't think you can go wrong with Harrah's if for no other reason than its location.

This is the correct answer. I love the Caesars property, unlike some other posters in the thread, and would consider the $360 vs. $60 if we are talking Augustus or Palace rooms and cared about the difference in room enough to pay $300 (I've always stayed comped, but one time paid for the upgrade when I booked a Roman Tower room). Roman Tower standard rooms are a non starter, as you don't know what to expect. I wouldn't stay in some of the beat up older rooms for free. Pretty sad they are considered a 4-4.5 star property on bidding and other third party sites, but haven't updated the rooms since Jay Sarno was around.

Harrahs would be my vote. The Roman tower is not the same as the Forum tower, not even close. Only similarity is they are called Caesars Palace. Take the extra 300 for the machines or it would pay for a really nice dinner or 2 while you are there. I would also check and see if Flamingo will give you the same deal as Harrah's. Its in the same area and has a nicer pool if you are interested in that. If you are not then see what Paris is offering.

Caesars is a mess. I recently stayed on a comp in the Octavious tower and was unimpressed. Certainly better than Harrah's, but if I had a choice between paying to stay there and a comp at Harrah's, I would have been at Harrah's - especially if I were being sentenced to hard time in the Roman Tower.

In your situation, I would choose Harrah's hands down. You can always go play in Caesars' casino with the money you save if you feel like navigating through the most inconveniently designed casino on earth.

I stayed at Ceasars in January and will never stay their again. Too spread out and no hot water in the shower. I would stay try Paris or Ballys.

So I called and was able to get Forum tower (where I was in October) for only $35 more, still 3 comp nites, so $350 plus tax...say $380 total....now that said, I didn't mind Caesar's as much as some up here have posted, I liked the F and B choices for the most part. The sportsbook VP bar was a fun place to hang, watch games and horses, and drink...I did ok at the $25 BJ in the "old" casino pit...

I am curious about the updates someone mentioned about Harrah's its been about 7-8 years since I stayed there; and its been 13 since I stayed at Bally's; Tomorrow I will call to see what Bally's/Paris has to offer...I've got some time to finalize.

I had plenty of hot water in October..took a nice long shower..sorry I used it all up :poke:..(lol)

Now I seem to have 3 comp nites at most of these properties, would any of you do the one night at one spot and move? Would CET "allow" me to do that? Snag the $60 room at Harrah's and them pull 3 comp nites at Forum Tower for the balance of my trip?

I would never waste that much valuable vacation time checking in and checking out. You would either have to do the 'duffle bag drag" or get other transportation and rack up more costs. I think you would be pleasantly surprised at Bally's/Paris and should give them a good look.

I really like CP, but I didn't much like staying there. High table limits, bad selection of machines and too much walking. Still love the place. I'd stay at Harrahs, which I usually do. Staff is nice, never far from your room or the strip and I've never had a bad room there. It's not luxury like CP, but it'll do. The food at Harrahs is underrated too. And you can always find a cheap table w/ a nice dealer.

My buddies and I typically stay where we can get comped (we don't spend much time in the room) so I would say save the money and stay at Ballys/Paris/Flamingo.

I have stayed at Caesars with my wife before and we both thought it was too big for our liking in terms of staying there.

IMO, Harrah's before paying for a room. When it was the Roman Tower it wasn't even a question. I don't mind the size of Caesars, it's the terrible games. I want to play a decent VP game in my home casino at night.

Yeah, I am having an internal debate about that; Bartop VP at my home casino is important for us too, and the new bar at Caesar's sports book had no better paytables then I saw at Harrah's last trip out, and the drink comps seemed a bit more generous in terms of choices...I can play 25c 8/5 DDB and drink and be happy; Plus I can watch games and races...

Nothing is available for me at Paris, I haven't called back to ask about Bally's yet, Flamingo, last time we stayed there had a horrible room, so unless someone can tell me confidently they are improved, i wont stay there.

What are the Blackjack options at Harrah's (paytables/rules??) We also played a little Crazy4poker last trip, what limits for that there?

I would go with Harrahs if it was my choice. While I don't care for the low ceiling claustrophobic feel of Harrahs, Caesars is always right across the street if you want to hang out there.

I would definately say Harrah's--Stay there every trip and really enjoy it and they have redone most of their rooms plus the casino.
I enjoy the friendly atmosphere and feel very comfortable there--and I can get free rooms at Caesars but don't like all the walking and feel it has a cold atmosphere and not as friendly
