If you have applied for, and received, the Chase Hyatt card that gives you automatic Hyatt Platinum status, do you remember how long it took for the status to "appear" on your Hyatt Gold Passport page? Was it when you activated the card?

I've been approved and am still waiting for my card, but want to make sure I get my accounts linked before I arrive in Vegas in a couple of weeks. We didn't make a trip last year, and have reverted to sapphire. The auto bump to gold will be nice.

Thanks, and details are below if you have no idea what I'm referring to.

You need to go through the status match process on the Hyatt website and it will link right away. Google "Hyatt Mlife status match." When you arrive in Vegas go to any Mlife desk and they will be able to look it up and give you your Gold Card.

Thanks, @RayDay - The issue is that I can't link until the Hyatt website displays the updated status.

To clarify what I am asking -- does anyone remember at what point the Hyatt website updated to show Platinum status (i.e., after activating the card, not until the first bill, 48 hours after approval, etc.).

since you're in a hurry, I would call Hyatt rewards after you get the card and activate it.

they probably can tell you exactly when it will update and may be able to push something through quickly.

I used the MLife link to sign up for the Hyatt passport but nowhere did it ask me for my MLife number--I am Platinum so wondering do I have to acall Hyatt for the tier match?.

No, it does it automatically when you go through your MLife account.

When I did mine I don't know how long it took to update the website but my Hyatt card on Passbook updated right away more or less, which means it updated in their system then too.

In case this is ever brought up again, your Hyatt account should reflect Platinum status within 10 days of receiving the approval email.

And, once you get it, what perks are you looking to take advantage of?

If you are talking about just signing up for Hyatt (not the credit card) via the Mlife link - it does not ask you for your Mlife number during the process, but (I'm assuming) you were already signed into MLife. Your Platinum MLife status got passed through in the URL that took you to the Hyatt site to sign up.

When I got to the end of the Hyatt sign up process, it displayed an image of the Hyatt passport card with the new Hyatt account number, and it was Platinum. All you really need is the account number. I'm guessing I'll probably end up getting a physical card in the mail in a week or so.

Early check in only if they have rooms. Upgrades are usually minimal. Better view maybe.
Line jumps are handy, but you will need your actual card that you get in the casino for that.

Yep, but also applies at Hyatt (where I stay often for business travel). They are much nicer about upgrades/early check in/late check out.

I just recently go the Chase Hyatt card myself...however before I got the card I matched my status through MLife with the link on the MLife page. But my status updated immediately, but you are correct it usually takes up to 10 days for the status to update via the Chase Hyatt card.

Some other perks that I received was 2 free nights at any category Hyatt after I spent $1000 in the first 30 days. The day that my spend went over the $1000 threshold I received an email stating I qualified for this perk. You will also receive 1 night stay on your card anniversary date. Don't forget to use your Hyatt credit card for incidentals while staying at a Hyatt and/or charge to your room and settle your bill with your Hyatt card for your 3x points as well as when checking in show them your MLife card to earn Tier credits.
