    My Trip Report

    Flight - Thursday, Feb 12th, 2015
We flew from Orlando to Las Vegas on SWA leaving at 7:30am EDT. The flight was going to take approx 5 hours and 20 minutes which was an unusually long flight. But thankfully we ended up arriving 40 minutes early. Once on the ground we had to wait about 10 minutes for Gate C-4 to open and we were through the airport and arrived at the Taxi Stand in record time!

    Weather
Some people were walking around in Winter Clothes with the Boots and Jackets on but for February it could not have been more perfect weather. The Pools were open, the Sun was shining and it was in the 70’s every day.

    Wynn
We were comped 3 nights and had $400 in Free Play waiting for us. I figured since we arrived that early we would have to wait for a room but we lucked out and one was available right then and there. We were given Room #1244 which if you go back and read my award winning trip report from July 2013 entitled; Planes, Trains, Automobiles & Las Vegas - you will see that we’ve actually stayed in that room before. In fact for some reason I knew it the minute we walked in. I’m pretty sure that’s a Vegas first for us. The room overlooks the Golf Course and it almost felt like home! If in the future they decide to put us in that room again I will expect them to add a plaque on the door. Haha!

    Weird Celebrity Sighting
After getting settled in we walked down to the Terrace Pointe Café for some Breakfast and while sitting there my Gal-Pal says quick turn-around Look, Look, Look… I turn around and Nicolas Cage is standing there sporting Sunglasses and a Mustache! He had 2 assistants with him. Then next thing we see is him walking to a table with Jerry Lewis! I mean like how weird is that? Nicolas was very sweet helping Jerry down the steps and to the table like you would do for a Grandparent. I’m not a big gawk-er but I was intrigued! I wanted to know how they knew each other and for how long? Were they talking shop or just visiting with one another? It seemed like a weird relationship to me. Anyway the staff was very professional and I’m glad to report that they were left alone and no one bothered them.

Day One – Thursday, Feb 12th
After breakfast we played in the Casino all afternoon then at 4pm we walked over to Encore to register for a Slot Tournament where I came in 7th place and my Gal Pal came in dead last! Afterwards we went back over to Wynn and had a light snack at Zooza Crackers. Around 7pm I was getting tired and went up to the room. By around 10pm my Gal-Pal has a Wynn Casino Host texting her to offer his services to her so I know she was doing some damage down there in the Casino... As always!

Day Two – Friday, Feb 13th
Friday was my Gal Pal’s birthday so we went to the Wynn Buffet for Breakfast. I had hidden a Hoops & Yo-Yo Birthday Card in her purse. I love those guys! She hadn’t noticed the card so I had to make some weird eye glances to get her to discover it and she was surprised! After breakfast we walked over to Treasure Island to play Jurassic Park where I won a few hundred dollars. Then we walked to The Venetian and Palazzo and eventually made our way up to Bellagio where we had Lunch at Café Bellagio and then played in the casino for awhile. Afterwards we decided to walk to Monte Carlo to see if anything had changed… Not much so we went to Aria where we hung out for a few hours before taking a cab back to Wynn for the rest of the evening.

    A Public Service Announcement
Here I will tell you that the cabbies are out of control and will long haul you and not listen to your directions. They will give you excuses why they need to hit the highway. This happened several times during this trip and to be honest they flat out don’t care since they have you captive anyway. I decided I did not want to be upset and stressed out and have our trip ruined with me arguing with them so I let it slide this time. They won't open doors or even slide their seat up for you and most of them STINK pretty bad!!! So for those of you reading this please be aware that they are starting to become aggressive little A-HOLE Stinky Long Haulers again!

Day Three – Saturday, Feb 14th
I woke up early and walked to Encore to use the Spa. I pretty much had the run of the place. I like it when it’s peaceful with no one around. I had some coffee and then used all the facilities and after about 1.5 hours I headed back to Wynn and we had breakfast again at the Terrace Pointe Café. Next we took a cab up to Mandalay Bay and hung out for awhile. Then we walked over to Luxor and by now it was lunch time so we ate at T and T - Taco’s and Tequila. Then we walked over to NYNY and played for awhile and ended up in the High Limit Slot area and played a $1 Texas Tea at $9 a pull and took it for several hundred dollars. Afterwards we took a cab back to Wynn to freshen up.

    Rod Stewart
After a short rest and changing clothes we took a cab over to Caesars for the 7:30pm concert. Traffic was a mess with the Construction and it being a Sat night. I thought we had good seats (on paper) but once there we found out we were against the back wall underneath the balcony. So the sound wasn’t as immersive as I would have liked. But Rod’s band is top notch! He has 13 regular Musicians all very talented and some are Multi-Instrumentalist. He brought out a String Section for a few songs and so at one point there were 20 musicians on stage. He sounded pretty good although he said he had been up the night before cheering on his favorite “Football” Team so he had his daughter sing a couple of songs that personally I could have done without. Then he kicked several autographed Soccer Balls into the audience which we thought was a little dangerous because a group trying to catch a ball knocked a woman down. He was able to kick them all the way up into the 2nd balcony. I just hope someone trying to catch a ball doesn’t fall over! Anyway the Stage setting was beautiful and they made good use of that huge stage with great Video and Lighting. After the concert we played in the Casino for a little bit and then walked back to Wynn because traffic was a nightmare. It may sound like we took a lot of cabs but my Fitbit said I walked over 20 miles in 3 days! One day alone was over 16K Steps!

Check Out - Sunday, Feb 15th
We were able to sleep in a little and then grabbed a Muffin and some Coffee and played in the Casino for a little bit before checking out and heading to the airport for an 11:40am flight. My Gal-Pal’s friend kept texting her urging her to play a Keno Slot Machine so she gave it a try but lost $50 -$100 I think while I played WOF.

    Conclusion
As you can probably tell by reading this we did not have a winning trip but we held our own and kept busy the whole time with Dining, Casino-Hopping and Walking. And what matters most is that we both had a great time!

    Nice read

We'll be at the Wynn next weekend for the first time. Out of shear curiosity, what are their spa facilities and what is there to do for 1.5hrs? Is it available for all hotel guests?

Nice report! Sucks about the cabbies though. It's one thing if they try to longhaul...it's totally another if you tell them not to and they still do. A cab driver that does the latter one to me will definitely regret it.

Both Wynn and Encore's Gym/Fitness Centers are included in your Resort Fee. They open at 6:00am and have equipment on par with most typical gyms.
You can use either one. I was staying at Wynn but I enjoy Encore's Spa because it's larger. The Spa fee is $40 a day and opens at 7am and has Jacuzzi's,
Steam Room, Sauna, Cold Water Plunges and other amenities like Body Lotion/Spray, Combs, Brushes, and grooming items like Q-Tips, Razors, Hair Dryers etc.
If you choose a Spa service (Massage etc) they will wave the $40 Fee. They open for Spa Services starting at 8:00am I believe. I've been to both of the Men's Spa's.

Thx for the interesting TR. I agree with your review of Rod Stewart, he was fantastic when I seen him but he never could kick one of them soccer balls up to the mezz (where I was).

If you ever do talk to Nicolas Cage, just remember that you can never - ever - askhimtostopdrinking.
