Does such a thing exist? For the last couple years, a group of us have had a gathering at a Riviera suite with a balcony which was ideal. With the closing of the Riv eminent, if we want to get a suite with a balcony, are places like Cosmo the only choice, or is there a more affordable option?

Polo Towers might not be a bad option. Though I should warn you that the balconies in question are not exactly sprawling. You and one other person need to be OK snuggling up a little bit.

AFAIK, Jockey Club or Polo Towers aren't downtown, and I don't believe that there are any suites with balconies downtown, at least not at the D or Four Queens.

The Golden Gate has 2 penthouse suites on their top floor. I have never stayed in one but the photo shows a bbq so I would assume it has a balcony. You'd have to phone for details though. They don't list prices for their penthouse suites on their website.

Confirmed that some of the Plaza rooms have a balcony. The balcony isn't very large so don't expect to have more than 3 or 4 people out on the balcony at one time.

You can check out how the balcony looks from these tripadvisor pics. Click on the "view from the room" to see the balcony, there are one or two pics from inside the hotel room showing the size of the balcony.

There are other hotels on the strip or near the strip with balconies, all depends on how much you want to pay. The cosmo balconies are impressive (suites).

Gold Spike had balcony suites but I don't know if those still exist.

true, but the OP's real question was affordable suites with a balcony, not DT only.

Yeah, anything affordable would work for the group, I'm just a fan of downtown myself. Thanks for the responses all.

Downtown suite with a balcony? Standing outside in the desert breeze looking out over Sin City, a desert breeze, a cool buzz, smoking a Camel? Yeah, I could dig that.

Funny thing that i had booked the cheapset south tower room they had.

At check in we were sort of talking about he people always ask for upgrade. I made a point not to ask for anything. i would be happy in my room.

So she gives my the card and says the elevators are right here.

hmm, thats nice, scored already north tower.

got up to the rom and i dont know which it was but it was much bigger then a regular room with a balcony overlooking fremont street. very nice deal.

I suppose it was like the mini suite they have listed on their site but didnt look exactly like that. its seemed to have all the same stuff though.

    pays to not ask sometimes!!

I get regular offers for 2 free nights from Cosmo. I play penny slots and was shocked that I get the offers. have stayed there 2 times. 56th floor on a balcony gave me the heebie jeebies.

I always wondered if they still allowed access to those balconies, I have never stayed in a room with one, we always stay in the South Tower in a two bedroom suite. I thought I was once told they shut access to those balconies due to fear of suicides. Interesting!!

I've seen a couple suites from my room that have balconies at the Nugget. I doubt they are very affordable though.

Bally's has rooms with a very small balcony too, and they are affordable.

I seem to remember staying at the old Imperial Palace some years back and we had a very narrow balcony overlooking an alley! :rolleyes2: Not even a very clean alley at that. :yuck::yuck:

The ones overlooking the pool area were much better, of course. I think it is now called the Linq. Whether they have retained access to those balconies, I don't know.

There used to be a balcony overlooking Freemont that you could walk out on from the second floor of the casino at the D. It might be suitable for a group gathering, but of course without the privacy of a room balcony. But if you are downtown anyway, it might be worth a visit.

I emailed The Plaza yesterday about balconies and this is the reply I received:

"Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, all of our windows are sealed due to fire code."

    FYI

I too would love to know about affordable balcony rooms.

    Hey Nevada Kid,
What room type at Ballys has a balcony?

    Thanks.
