I don't like to complain like this often since I generally think Caesars does a good job and they have treated me well over the years, but I have to make this public. This weekend, I was on a junket trip to Atlantic City from Charleston, SC. The mistake I made was selecting this trip a day before a major casino/hotel holiday like Valentines day. The trip was scheduled for Thursday-Saturday. Getting there was fine, everything went as planned. The return flight home was a terrible disappointment. This was my first time on such a charter so I really didn't know what to expect. But as the other veterans of these trips confirmed, it was unusual for the return flight to be scheduled so early (10:15). This meant we had to be checked out of our rooms and on the busses at 7:55! I presume this was because of the holiday and they wanted the rooms vacated. OK, fine, my mistake but also Caesar's.

We get to the bus meeting place and learn, rudely, from a very rude woman, the trip's "escort" Helen, that the plane is delayed two hours. Bummer, but ok. these things happen. We come back at 10 and learn again without any explanation that the plane is delayed another 2 hours. We were offered free buffet passes as compensation. Ok, whatever. Bummer, but these things happen. He is the problem: the plane wasn't even in Atlantic City, it was in Cleveland bringing in another charter. So, that plane was never going to be ready that morning anyway. Somebody screwed up and lied about it. We get on the busses at 12 and head to the airport. No plane, no explanation as to why we are here, nothing from terrible Helen. We ended up sitting in the airport for 5 hours before the plane arrived and left. I'm not mad about the delays. I'm mad Caesars' lied to us about their mistake. I'm mad they made us go to the airport when they knew good and well that we weren't going to be able to leave until at least 4. I'm mad that Helen was nothing but rude and uncaring about her customers. I'm seriously reconsidering my relationship with CET after this. Which is a shame, because I usually greatly enjoy being one of their customers. Thanks for letting me vent. I hope this never happens to you.

I agree with everything you said

contact your host and see what they can do about making it right

and if not, avoid CET until the dust settles

I thought those travel packages were put together by contractors.

Yup...if it was a "Charter", then it's not CET's fault...those "junkets" are independent contractors.

    Maybe yes. Maybe no.

Some charters are through the casino. Some of via 3rd parties. If this was CET, they need to get bitch slapped for this snafu. Okay, so should the other people. SOMEBODY knew about the issues with the plane. We have taken plenty that were totally part of CET.

Third party or not, they represent CET therefore making them responsible. The rest of the trip was fine.

At the local Majestic Star they had advertised a room for the night with , and rose pedals in the room for $125 or passes to buffet, roses, and chocolates for $225, which is an insane rate for that Casino. The buffet is the worst of the worst and the rooms are never above $100 on a regular night, so I believe it is a busy day for them.

I imagine Valentine's Day would be busy in Vegas for sure as probably a lot of weddings that day.
