    My Trip Report

I have posted my most recent trip, from last month, here at:

    http://deamonlv.blogspot.com/2015/02/january-2015-escaping-storm-in-ac-lost.html

I'll summarize some highlights here. The details and pictures can be found on the blog link above.

I was able to snag a $80 roundtrip airfare to Las Vegas and so booked a winter trip. With this trip, we were able to escape a couple of the many storms in the east. We stayed in Atlantic City the night before the trip to avoid a storm the day of departure, then to Las Vegas, before spending a couple of days in Laughlin, and then back to downtown LV.

We had our usual great experience at the M, with great service. In Laughlin it was mild enough to spend some time on the beach, and we had some fun documenting the really poor spelling/grammar on the signs in the buffet at Harrah's. At Bellagio, we were able to catch the Chinese New Year display in the conservatory for the first time! At the Golden Nugget, I found that someone left their tablet on one of the slot machines! We ended the trip with some great meals downtown and I didn't do too badly in Video Poker.

Read your report. About the Sentra, the base model did NOT have cruise as standard. I had a 2014 Sentra that I had to add cruise to because it was a base model. Nice trip report and great rate on the flights.

On the 2015 Nissan site, when choosing the lowest priced model, with no options, I saw this: "Cruise control with illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls
Standard". Maybe my car was a 2014, but this being January 2015, and the car being likely a week old, I assumed it was a 2015 model. Maybe it was a 2014, which would explain the lack of cruise control.

I was on vacation. Taking time to check if it was a 2014 vs 2015 didn't even cross my mind.

That picture of the river view bar is actually the Riverside, not the Pioneer. ;)

(we like sitting at both) :)

Very nice report! Loved the buffet signs..(Maybe they have a machine in the back that makes them? Where someone lacking English skills could type and print whatever?)

Yeah, we used to frequent Laughlin at least twice a year for quite some time.
    Love those river view bars!

    Thanks for the report!

Thank you for the report. Glad the weather held for you to get out. Down here in Baltimore, waiting to see if we finally get significant snowfall tonight.

Your car had to be a 2014 Sentra. I have been an employee with Nissan for 14 years, and the base model Sentra has no cruise control on the 2014 model. The 2015 models now have them. And it's not surprising that your car had only 15 miles on it. Dealers who have lots of leftover models at the end of the year, sell cars to rental car companies for a huge discount, so they don't get stuck with them. A great report and thanks for sharing!! And an amazing deal on the fight!!! WOW

All those errors were definitely laughable. I would understand the Bananas Foster one if they hadn't tried to correct it once.

Nice report! What was the best VP you could find at the river lodge?

Awesome trip report. We like Laughlin too. Being right next to the Colorado and watching that water is something else.

I did not verify it, but I have seen reports of NSUD (99.7% Deuces Wild) there. I did see 9/6 Jacks. I just don't really have need/room for another Laughlin hotel for my itineraries, so I didn't bother playing there. Maybe if the hotel remodel turned out to be very nice I could be swayed though. On the downside, it appeared that earned points could only be used for food there, or for cheap gifts that could be purchased with your points. No Apple products or the like, just mainly cheap junk.

Wow, what a great deal on airfare! I really hope to get to M one of these days. I don't rent a car in Vegas, but perhaps will shuttle it over there. It's been on my list of things to do since it opened.

Great job sharing all of the grammatical mistakes. Not only is it funny, but it really is laughable that the management quality and oversight is so bad that those mistakes happen and then fail to get corrected correctly. I notice analogous absurdity with street/road signs and in printed media. In the case of casinos, do they even care...really?

    Great report,

I was amused at the terrible spelling/grammar usage on the buffet signs in this age of Google. Mind you if you ever look at a bad tattoo site on the internet you will see many worse examples (etched permanently on someone's body to boot).

I too am a fan of the M Resort. One of the things I noticed: it doesn't matter how big or small you tip the employees they are all well trained and/or well hired such that they respond with what appears to be a genuine thanks.

Out of curiosity is the Laughlin River lodge affiliated with Dotty's by any chance?

FWIW, Dotty's seems to always have NSUD from 5c - $5...

Enjoyed your trip report and pictures of the signs. Unbelievable really that someone doesn't take responsibility for making sure they are correct.

What an incredible price for airfare. Great catch!

And kudos to you for making sure the tablet got back to it's owner. I often wonder if you were to turn something like that in to the casino, how much effort, if any, they would give to getting it back to it's owner. The fellow must have been so relieved after having his first one stolen.

Oh I forgot to say you need to check out the sign for the corner bar at Harrah's LV, the one right next to McDonald's. Unless they finally changed it, up for at least two years, it has alcoholic spelled incorrectly.
