What's your best story of Silver-Mining (ie: Credit Hustling)
Or are we all too proud to admit it?

I'm not too proud to admit I don't understand your question.

I was hesitant to even post this thread, as I figured 99% of people on this board would have no clue what it was (or ever admit to doing it)...
Maybe if I called it Buffalo Hunting?

Still no clue... This doesn't seem to be something commonplace like hearing "winner winner chicken dinner."

Only twice...both times a casino employee informed me of credits in a machine. First time at PH, there was one credit in a $5 machine...employee said people forget often and to go ahead and play it. Second time was Mirage. 2 credits in a Blazing 7's machine...pit said go get it...I got it and gave the TITO to the dealer as tip. This often happens after a handpay. People forget they have credits left beyond what the jackpot was...they get their cash and go. Good slot attendants will inform the player of remaining credits or ask them to do one more spin.

I have the weird superstition of never cashing out credits less than a dollar so after I spin my last full-line multiple there is often 15-45 cents left on the machine. I hope someone comes by and grabs it.

I'll just have the ticket print out and leave it on the machine.

Found a credit on a $5 slot once.

Added $10 of my own, lost it all.

You can still find dollar coins in the Cal Lobby or the El Cortez sometimes, you know how they kind of stand up against the back of the tray...

This is what I typically do.

One time I saw a couple leave $100 behind in a bartop. They were gone by the time I noticed the credit in the machine. I informed the bartender, and they were actually able to find the people. I could have taken it myself and probably would have got away with it.

I left about that much in the bartop by the Henry at the Cosmo. I completely forgot about it due to my hangover... Mid way through the meal, I remembered and went back to the bar and saw that the credits were still in the machine.

Ahha, there we go, some people are chiming in...
My best happened recently, at Grand Sierra in Reno...
Wife and I went over to have breakfast at their buffet (I had a $20 dining credit)...on the way to the buffet, I noticed a $1 machine blinkin', so I told Kris to go over and cash the ticket out (it said $34 on the meter)...so I walked on to the buffet (which is elevated, so I could still see her)
But she sat down and started playing (ahha, I have taught her well, lol), so when she came back over to the buffet, I asked her why she played (if she did it as cover play) and she said NO, it was $34 in freeplay, so it had to be spun-off...lucky broad hit it for $103! Hahaha SCORE!
before that, my best was finding a black chip on the floor at JANugget in Reno...

Last year at the GN in the gift shop there was a $0.01 TITO sitting next to the cash register for eight days. The lady who was manning the register told me that somebody finally picked it up. Score!!!

I found a .05 tito sitting on top of a garbage can, I marched my ass over to the cashout machine and heard a single clink as my new nickle hit the tray...bingo!

I like to reverse mine...I often leave small value titos around the casino areas, like dining rooms and bar areas for
people to find. Figure it gives them a thrill.

Many years ago I went to a dog track in Denver, this was around when self service kiosks were just getting started.
I had never used one before so didnt quite understand all the ins and outs.
I stuck a 20 dollar bill in and made a $6 bet and hit the button to collect my bet voucher and credit voucher.

After sitting down a few minutes later I looked at the credit voucher and it was for $59 or so. (should have been $14).
    Confused at first but
Then I realized that the $45 dollar figure I saw when I first approached machine was actually a credit value
that the previous user had left behind.

Strange thing is that I used the machine only a few seconds after he left it and he saw me for sure,
so he didnt realize his mistake either or realized too late and
assumed that he wasnt going to get it back.
