Me and my brother is going to vegas soon and will be staying for 8 nights. We are not big gamblers ($$), but will gamle everyday. Guess that we should join theese clubs anyway? Any other "club" that we should join? We have a gambling budget for about $200 pr day total.. So maybe its no point in joining?
Joining is never pointless. Just throw your card out and see what happens. Worst case, you get better prices when browsing online when you're logged into Total Rewards or mLife.
Definitely can't hurt. When I first started going to Vegas back in college, when I had a lower budget than yours, I jointed the various clubs (I don't remember what they were called back then, and this was before a lot of the mergers... I know MGM had Players Club, but I can't recall the name of Mandalay's was called or a few of the others), and even though I wasn't getting any "comps", per se, I found that I got somewhat-discounted rates just from being on their mailing list. Might as well, especially if you're planning on going back. Also, that much money a day, on slot machines, could definitely get you some free rooms in the future at lower-end CET joints.
I'd suggest joining total rewards and doing most of your gambling there. If you're interested in free rooms in the future or getting some of your current stay comp'd, CET gives you the most bang for your buck and your play from all of their properties is considered in the bigger picture. Mlife, for example, seems to only count play at Mirage towards future Mirage stays, etc. At CET, you can play at Caesars to earn future comps at Flamingo
Just join wherever you play, keeping in mind that Mlife and Total Rewards cards are used at multiple properties.
Definitely worth joining every player's club. MLife, Total Rewards, Grazie (Venetian/Palazzo), Wynn, Cosomopolitan ("Identity" I think) etc. Some will give you bonuses for just signing up, the Wynn used to give a buffet pass for signing up and earning x points, which was pretty easy to do. Over 8 nights you'll probably figure out which properties you like best, when you do try to do most of your gambling at the property you'd like to get offers from. As noted before, it seems generally easier to get room offers from the mid-level CET properties. Though MLife and V/P will send you room discounts if not actual free room offers.
Thanks for the reply´s so far. How do i sign up? Do i have to wait to i get there? or can i sign up online? Where/how do i get the cards?
"Mlife, for example, seems to only count play at Mirage towards future Mirage stays, etc" I would disagree with that comment. I am a consistent mLife customer and the points count towards all properties. it's true that they count MORE towards the property that you play at, but then again, with a $200/day gaming budget (which I realize has no bearing on the amount ot TCs earned), I wouldn't play at CET casinos if I didn't feel luck there, so play where you feel lucky, and make sure that you register for a player's club card at that property. It could be Casino Royale, Ellis Island, or Silver 7's. Who knows?
Depending on your game of choice, $200 per day can certainly get you discounted or possibly free rooms through MLife or CET.
This is accurate. You'll get better SPECIFIC property offers if you concentrate your play at one MLife property, but you may get corporate offers based on your overall play.
You can probably end up getting Sunday-Wednesday comped at lower-tier CET properties like Harrah's or Flamingo.
You need photo ID. At the casino look for their "players club" or "slot club" booth or it will be named for the program (IE: at CET properties they will say "Total Rewards", at MGM resorts it will say "MLife") You just need to line up (if there is one) and when its your turn go up and give them your ID and say you want to sign up. They will give you an explanation of the program, any promotions going on, how to use the card, etc. There isn't really any best time to sign up - I've seen line ups in the morning, afternoon, evening and night. For which ones: you for sure want to get the MLife and Total Rewards cards. Those are the two main programs in Las Vegas just due to how many properties they own. Beyond that I would still sign up for all the cards - in case they have a good promotion going on or give you some free gift or free slot play.... but then consider if you have any value to them or they to you as far as making sure you use the card. An example there might be Casino Royale: you might want to sign up to get the coupon sheet (2 for 1 drinks at the bar, some discounted food court food) but if you lose the card after that who cares because you probably don't want to stay there and it can take forever to earn points... Or another might be Wynn: pretty fancy property, nice place, nice casino. You want to sign up for the card for any promotions they might have for new members, but if your budget is only $200 a day it is unlikely that you will ever receive a usable offer from them.
If you lose the $200 in a short period of time, it probably won't get you much in comps. But if you happen to win early on that $200, and the win lets you play for hours, depending on your average bet, it may get you something. Also, if you have a player's card, the casino may give you occasional offers to try to get you to come. I get that from Venetian/Palazzo every once in a while.
You can sign up online for Mlife. Then when you arrive, if you're not staying at the property, you just need to find the Mlife desk and pick it up. I signed up online before my trip in November, stayed at MGM and was able to get my card right at check-in.
