MC was my home base for a brief time as well. There was never anything all that “wrong” with it. It was just a little boring, IMO. Hopefully the rebrand, renos and all the new restaurants etc. that have been added to MC and the surrounding area breathe some new life into the place.

This can only be good. I've never stayed there but anytime I've visited it just felt dull and lifeless. It also just feels completely generic. I've said before if I could have any casino to turn around like in a SimCity type challenge I'd choose either Monte Carlo or possibly Luxor. Both these places seem like they could be much better than they are.

As long as they don't start any work in the next month. I hate construction at properties I am staying at.

Carve this is something I literally said just last week. Nothing wrong with it but a bit boring. In fact, MC could almost be considered "old school" at this point in its Strip Life!

Was the first Vegas hotel I ever stayed in. Definitely looking forward to the rebrand.

We will be staying there next month for 3 nights (comped). It will be our first time but I'm looking forward to spend some time at their pool area and we're planning to give their new eateries a try. I also love they ahve some places now where you can sit outside, enjoy a meal or a drink overlooking part of the Strip. Going to give them a decent amount of play, already have a host there so maybe we'll get some comped nights after the remodel as well.

I like the sound of this. I wonder if it'll all be done along a more Hotel 32 line. I'd welcome that.

Love those soft craps tables there, but there is something about that place that screams makeover. Brand is one of the few restaurants that I will not go back too unless out of necessity.

I just hope they dont go high end! Vegas needs to keep SOME cheap places to stay/play. The last time i did stay here my room was pretty worn out so it needs something. I just hope they finally give this joint a theme!

MC has a pretty good location on the Strip, they will also be the closest hotel to the new arena. Hopefully, the rebranding of the property will lead to better hotel rooms and restaurants. (I agree about the Pub, hopefully they leave that place alone).

You still have a large selection... Luxor, Excalibur, MGM's West Wing (on most nights), NY-NY (on some nights), Bally's, Harrah's, Flamingo, Paris, Linq, and Tropicana (on some nights).... then you also have the Downtown properties and the ones off the Strip and Downtown area...

I'm starting to imagine new names for the place ...

Hmmmm ... "The M"? Nope, taken.
    "The C"? Maybe.
"Jersey"? next door to NYNY. :)
    "Mount Charles"? :) :)
    How about just "Chuck"?
"The New Monte Carlo"? "The Final Monte Carlo"?

I wouldnt put MGM or Paris on this list, they might have some lower end rooms but overall they arent really cheap but i can see the others. But lets spin that since I was talking about a cheap place to stay on the strip. I'll see your 8 "cheap" places and raise you...
    Wynn
    Encore
    Elara
    Bellagio
    Cromwell
    Mandalay Bay
    4 Seasons
    Aria
    Encore
    Mandarin O
    Delano
    CP
    The Venetian
    Palazzo
    Cosmo
ETC. Not include the stupid hotel in a hotel stuff like NOBU. My point is that every time they build new, its high end. Every time they rebrand, its high end. They didnt gut Bill's to make it a nicer lower end hotel. Or the IP. Or the Sahara. I think there might actually be money out there if you took the Monte Carlo and made it more mainstream and fun. Maybe add some cracks to all of those columns around the place, slap some vines on the wall and turn it into a Dusk til Dawn (movie) themed casino. It would go nicely with the Diablos on site!

Make it themed, make it fun, make it accessible to all and you'll make money.

The Full Monte? Wall to Wall male strippers! Make it bachelorette central! Sure you would alienate 1/2 the male gamblers out there but the gays and gals all over vegas would flock to it!
