...how was it?. I have a minor quandary for March 18th. After months...well maybe weeks...I finally got my "Hoops" offer from CET. I'm now booked at Bally's from 3/19-24 but I arrive Weds night. 3/18. I currently have 2 nights booked at both the Main Street Station and at the Southpoint (both comped) from 3/18-20 ( just in case CET stiffed me). With my Bally's res in place now and CET saying that I can pick up my "Hoops" wristbands, for Planet Hollywood at 8 a.m. on the 19th, I'm thinking about staying as close to Bally's as possible. I have an offer for Silver 7's for Sun-Thurs for $24.00. . I am seriously thinking about booking that offer if someone can confirm that the rooms are clean, safe, semi modern, the bathroom functions and is decent size. Southpoint is approx. 7 miles from Bally's and MSS is about the same. Silver Sevens is less than 1 mile ( if memory serves me correctly). Debating the pros/cons of driving to Planet Hollywood/Bally's at 8 a.m. from S.P. / M.S.S. versus a short drive for $24.00.

I've never stayed there but did give them about an hour or so worth of play. Looking for some feedback. Thanks in advance!

    Champster1,
I spent 2 nights in Oct 2014 only because they offer a free shuttle to McCarren ( after spending the previous 5 nights elsewhere). The rooms are dated. In fact, most everything about the Silver needs renovation BAD. I stayed in the "tower" room. Really small and hard to navigate showers ( I am not a big guy either....5'9", 165 lbs.) The escalator is slow and old and only fits about 3-4 people. The casino is really smoky, restaurants are just OK. Not a casino I would ever go back to unless my rooms were free. In all fairness, the rooms were clean and spacious and if you're there just for sleeping, I guess it would be OK. But very uneventful.

I have stayed there for years. Previous poster are accurate in description. But the rooms are large with a large TV, beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet, now that they reactivated their omelette bar, is a real value. Don't forget they have a resort fee, that they recently upped. It is still small.

Also I might add........apparently many believe that walking out at night to Bally's or Paris is not a good idea. Wife & I did just that before I read that on VBM. If fact, we did that on two occasions at night and did not get hassled at all. HOWEVER......there were some shady characters along the way and did see a few attempting to spend the night in the open field along the way to Bally's. If things like that scare you, than I would not walk at night. Stuff like that has never bothered me but I am still very careful.

When I stayed at Silver Sevens, it surpassed my expectations. Good room value for price.
Nicd to hear omelet station is back up and running. That made the breakfats buffet.

It sounds like the newer tower " premium" I think, is the way to go. Got this question posted on a couple of boards ! Gonna figure it out before march rolls around!!

I stayed at S7 last in 2013, IIRC. As the one poster said, the bathrooms in the Tower Rooms are set up a bit strangely, with the shower very close to the toilet (I think that's what I noticed, anyway). That said, the Tower Rooms were very good when I stayed in them (several times over the years) with a comfortable (to me) bed and a large TV. I would have liked a more comfortable chair for sitting in -- they had only straight-back chairs in the room -- but that was a minor issue that many hotels have. Take it with a grain of salt -- a comfortable bed, decent TV, and lots of hot water in the shower are what matters to me in a hotel. The motel-type rooms had recently undergone a "refreshing" in 2012 when I stayed in one, and I'd rate it as only satisfactory.

The buffet was below average, but decent enough for breakfast. The cafe was above-average, with excellent sandwiches, Mexican fare, and Chinese food. The casino is the biggest negative, as it is smoky and has many unsavory characters (some may say local flavor!) in the evening. The pool area is fantastic. I will stay there again for sure.

I live right next door to this Hotel/Casino.

But before I did I stayed there on occasion since being a flight attendant being close to the airport was paramount. The rooms HAVE been renovated in the last couple of years HOWEVER they are still NOT luxurious. They are however CLEAN and COMFORTABLE.

The neighborhood isn't the greatest but my complex is putting in a gate that should take care of the ********* that stole my scooter when I first moved here (BTW the guy was found guilty and is being sentanced on 5/27) so I wouldn't recomend walking alone at night if you're female.

The price is right. The casino is ok. The food at the buffet is horrible but the service is good. The food at the cafe is awesome but the service sometimes leaves a bit to be desired. For 1 night I would highly recomend it.
