My Daughter and her best friends' (3 high school seniors) Spring Break plans have fallen through. One of the Dad's says to me "heck, if they want to shop and lay by a pool and eat good food....let's go to Vegas!"

Now, my natural reaction is ! My fatherly reaction is  However, the girls would have a ton of fun - pool, shop, see shows, eat, etc., so I'm ready to reconsider this. Question for the veterans of teens in Las Vegas....where to stay? My mLife Spring promo isn't out yet, but I could get 3 basic rooms at the Flamingo for $500 total (1 for the girls; 1ea for two sets of parents). I've never stayed at the Flamingo, but have realistic expectations based on the reviews I've read here...but I also hear their pool is great....

Any better ideas??? As always, thanks for any input! We'd be in Las Vegas the first week of April (NCAA BBall Championship Monday!). Thank you!

Mario's, I think center Strip is you best bet, especially near Planet Hollywood with Urban Outfitters and other offerings. Of course Fashion Show Mall is just down the street and a good diversion for them along with Forum Shops. March is hit and miss as far as pool weather goes, If I remember correctly Mirage still heats their pool and you might find somewhat reasonable rates there. Something for you to read about Flamingo: http://www.vegaschatter.com/story/2015/1/22/41048/0092/vegas-travel/Dirty+Bird%3A+Is+Flamingo+The+New+Imperial+Palace%3F

Thanks, xmarksx! I read that article as well. Mirage is what I'm waiting to hear about with mLife and also Vdara. However, I wanted to make sure we had something booked and with a decent pool. I don't imagine we'll spend lots of time in the rooms, but we don't need to pay for mold in the bathroom either. I might just see what PHo offers...thank you!

I'd book the Flamingo deal for $500 total ASAP then adjust if any better offers materialize from MLife...

I think PH is solid in most categories, other than the pool area. I might put it last in terms of the pool scene. It's just bad. Two small pools, small areas to lay out in, big slab of concrete in between, etc. I think the MGM also has very good pools for teens, if that's an option. I agree with an above poster that the Mirage is a good choice as well, but might be a good bit pricier than the Flamingo.

Thanks, Bobble_Wobble, for the insight....Wife and I are very comfortable at the Mirage as well. I'll pay a few dollars more in order to make sure that the pool, Priority #1 or #2 for the 17 year olds (and Moms) is a hit! Of course, while the girls are at the pool, the dads can be earning more money for the trip!

I did not see the age for the girls - but location of malls, etc would be a factor. Fashion is up the street a bit. You also have the Shops at Caesars, mall at PHo, and inside V/P.

For the price and location, along with a lazy river I don't think you can go wrong with Monte Carlo. That's where we will be taking my nieces this summer (teenagers as well). We have stayed at the MC before and like the tram that hooks up with Aria/City Center (shopping) and Bellagio (sightseeing) and then a short walk to Caesars for more shopping.

The problem with MC , no in room wifi, can you imagine 3 teenage girls without 24/7 access to social media?

They'll think they've been shipped to Gitmo, LOL

Hahaha...good point Frank. I don't really dick with wifi in the room/at the pool since I have unlimited data but you're right...they would lose their mind.

I'd definitely recommend center strip.. Mirage has a great pool. Shopping in all directions with Miracle Mile, Forum Shops, Venetian shops.

MB is way down the street from the shopping, but they have the pool and Shark Reef as well as the tram that goes all the way. To the entrance of NYNY. That stretch along with MGM seems like it has the most underage stuff to do in one area, sans shopping.

I've taken my niece and her friends to Vegas (3 16-17 year olds). I was at MGM and they loved the pools. They also managed to figure out the Vegas bus system and went to various malls and places (admittedly I lost track of them - don't tell my sister).
They seems to have a very good time and would like to come back (although I could tell my niece was peeved that she couldn't at least watch the gambling!).
I took them to some of the shows with various successes (can't remember them all but I remember none of them liking KA very much). They all liked Copperfield. Had mixed reactions to LOVE (my niece was into the Beatles - the others it might of been Beatles who?). Mixed to the Blue Man Group. These 3 girls didn't seem to have the same taste in just about anything.
Gondolas at Venetian seemed to be a hit - they were fairly tired from all the walking which might have helped.

Given the lack of casino, a good (and more low-key) pool, Vdara would be a great option -- plus the room rates are lower. You ought to be able to access the Aria pool, too. And Crystals is right there for shopping -- er, more like browsing! Not a bad walk to Fashion Show from there, either. And close to the Miracle Mile shops at PH. Gives the parents plenty to work with, too.

Just found a note on my room's desk at PHO saying the pool area is closed until "this spring" for construction of a surf experience???

As compensation, they are offering 30% off at the buffet. I'm there!
