    My Trip Report

I was not going to submit a report because this was mainly a business trip. I went to Vegas last week for a continuing legal education seminar. I was staying an off-strip hotel that did not have a casino. On the first full day, after 8 hours of listening to speakers, I had a quick dinner with some fellow participants and then had to attend to some urgent work matters. On the second and last day of the seminar, a member (who was also in attendance) of one of the law firms that my company works with offered to take me dinner. A couple of other people tagged along and we decided to go to RM Seafood.

I couldn't go to Vegas and not gamble. Fortunately, the other people in the group had the same idea. We sat down at the $50 DD blackjack table next to the Eyecandy Lounge. With Mandalay Bay being my home base, I was able to take a marker out for $2500. For the next 45 minutes, everyone at the table had the run of their life. We won about 90% percent of our hands and wagered aggressively. When I lost, it was typically a low wager. I won the first 10 hands of the initial shoe. I won every double down and split. I had only one other run like this before but it was back in the days that I was more comfortable betting red chips instead of green and black chips.

When the new dealer was about ready to come, we decided to play one more hand. I was up $8800. I wanted to reach 10k. So I bet $1200 and bet $100 for the dealer. I won that hand with a 20. I paid off my marker and pocketed 10k. The other 3 walked away with 11k, 7.7 and 6k respectively.

After dinner, I had to go back and work but it was not easy. Unfortunately, this nice profit will likely be used to pay off the AMT tax that I will owe Uncle Sam.

Then only time I had a run like that was at GVR about 14 years ago. The difference was that I won about 1200. The dealer was just smiling. She said it had been awhile since she had dealt a run like that. The funny thing is tha if I had been there for my typical trip I would have been less aggressive in my bets.

That is the type of run that we all dream of! Excellent win!

You're right about playing more aggressively when you know you won't be there for much time. I have done the same but never with the same luck!
