5 people in 4 people suite?!

Hey guys!

In about 20 days the next vegas vacation will happen. It's 3 buddies of mine + my dad. So that makes 5 people.

We pretty much do hotel/casino hopping because we are very excited about the different locations and casinoresorts/rooms. Starting downtown and move every 2 days. The question is if the hotel has issues with 5 people sleeping in a suite when the max. is 4 people. We always booked for 5 people (if available) but we do have a 4 max room at the Flamingo (neapolitan suite) and the MGM (skyline marquee suite). We really don't mind having someone sleeping on the couch but i don't wanna pay extra for a room that we do not need.

Dec. 2013 we were about 12 people @PH and had one 2bdr panoramic suite and 3 rooms. We had i think 8 keys for the suite and nobody cared. I could have had 20 keys for that suite, the dude at the PH did not care at all. It was just guys sleeping on couches/on the floor/in the bathtub. Great time! But i think MGM or a pissed off dude at the checkin at Flamingo (happened before) may try to sell us a additional room.

What do you guys think? Any experiences at these locations? Any help would be great!

 

I think the 4 max is a fire code thing...meaning you cant safely fit more than four in the room.

If it were me, I would check in as 4, and just not tell them about the 5th. like you said, there is enough room to sleep 5

Not at check in. After the first day you can ask for a replacement.

 

I've never heard or personally encountered an issue with that. I've had 4 people stay in a regular room (2 people normally, and they charge extra for anything over 2 people), and had 6-8 in a suite normally for 4 people. If you want to be safe, just ask for 4 keys initially, and then later during the day, go back to the front desk and ask for a additional key. Just say you left your key in the room. Also, when you add names to the room (in case your friends/dad forgets key in room or it fails) just add 3 additional names.

 

And you told the front desk you had more than 4 people?

So i can just go to the frontdesk and say i forgot my card in the room and show them my ID and they give me a new one? The "old" one still Works? For real?!?

 

First 2/3 trips I didn't as for obvious reasons. But later on, I had a host and he made all the reservations since then. Whenever I went to front desk I always asked for the amount of keys I had to people. I figured if they charged me extra, it'll get taken off at the back-end by the host.

Yeap. The old key still works. Done it plenty of times. Just don't tell them you "lost" your key(s) as they will give you new keys and void the old keys.

 

Just ask for 5 keys at check it, they wont care and you dont have to deal with the hassle goin back. I usually get an extra key just incase i missplace it in the room and not once have i been asked what i need it for, nothing more annoying then searching for a key when you need to leave in a hurry.

 

I check in solo for work trips and have no problem getting 2 keys. I always get extra keys, I misplace them or they get too close to my cell phone and get demagnetized. Ask for 6 keys to throw them off the scent. Maybe you'll meet some friendly ladies and have 8 people in the suite. I've heard stories of that happening.

 

Alright i think i just ask for 5 keys. Do you think i should have a story ready to tell if they say something like "Why do you need 5 keys if it's just 4 people?"

Going to the front desk and ask for a key cause of leaving the actual key in the room is too much hassle i think. But still thank you for pointing me there!

I don't even think we gonna need the fifth key because the only one going somewhere solo is me and i will have a key... But just in case.

So no Horror Story to expect like getting into trouble cause you didn't tip the nice mexican housekeeping lady that went mad and told on us?

 

They wont ask so dont even worry about it! If they for some reason would, just tell them you like to have an extra just incase you missplace one in the room.

Are you sure you're cut out for this sort of subterfuge? C'mon, man. Get your game face on! Watch a spy movie or something to get your head on straight. You can do this!

 

Just make sure that if you do not get keys for all, have the person that does not have a key listed on the reservation so if they are separated from you and want to go to the room, they can just go to the desk to ask for a "replacement" because they left their key in the room.

 

I travel alone and always get 2 keys and promptly put one in my wallet in case I misplace the one in my pocket.

 

Probably depends on who's working the front desk. Last April I put my sister-in-law up in a comped room at Flamingo and we stayed at MGM. When checking in at MGM I explained the deal and asked for an extra room key so she could get into the pool. His response was "Sure, we can give you as many room keys as you want" LOL.

This after refusing the $20 tip up front for an upgrade and still refused a tip afterwards.

 

wow. We were not really happy about the check-in procedere at Flamingo but i love the place itself though.

I do not know where i read it but i think someone said the playerscard (i have Mlife as well as TR cards) can be used as key. Anyone knows?
