    My Trip Report

Okay, this trip report won't be too exciting but may have some useful info. Staying at Cosmo, I have a new host as my old one got canned. I'm not liking my new host. Dodges most of my questions, and leaves a lot of the play/theo in the "I factor in win/loss, theo, average bet" into how I comp you.

Miss my old host which was good on his word for 35% theo. Period. If I had extra, I could bank it or blow it on retail. Looks like new management is tightening the belts.

2 night 3 day trip. I flew in from Burbank to LAS. Quickest flight I had, 39 minutes. Take off to landing, no fuss on debording the plane.

Check in at Cosmo at noon, no issues. Got a 2 queen terrace, as I was hosting a friend and his brother.

    Start of gambling day 1.
Black jack, 8 shoe decent game at the 25 dollar level. Cosmo shoe game is only missing "stay on 17". Their double deck is all 6:5 unless it's high limit.

I usually take out a 2k markers at a time and play 2 hands at 75 starting and go up or down depending on how I feel. After 3 shoes I was up 1k. Bought back my marker and decide to play roulette.

    Basically paytriples way.

    400 a spin. If you win 200 profit. First session, hit, hit, hit, 0, hit, hit, hit, loss. Pretty profitable. 200 + 200 + 200 - 250 (due to the zero). Repeat bet 400. 200 + 200 + 200 - 400. 950 profit after 8 spins.

Walked over to ph, looked around and dropped 1 k playing black jack. I try to get into it there and the atmosphere, but I guess I just like cosmo/aria. Decide to walk back.

Met up with natedog, we play craps. Pit critter asks why he's in the ghetto main floor. argument breaks out between the players and the pit crew distracting them from natedogs bets. Bad session, but we a small profit due to miss pays. Confusing and bad mojo, ended up playing bacarrat in talon room. So peaceful there. Couldn't make much happen and then try UTH. Lost another 2k marker between the games.

Lose a few hundred at random things, 5 dollar slots. Casino war. Missed on some 17/20 llong shots. Fuzzy accounting. Shows that I'm down 2k. All before dinner. Eat steak and eggs at Henry cafe. Play more at Cosmo and drop another 2k playing UTH.

Walk to bally to find low limit gaming. The shops will open in feb, but it doesn't look like it. Bally has a high limit pit. Their double deck has no double down after split, bacarrat is 25 min, but you got to bet 100 to touch the cards. Can't play there anymore. Despite nostalgia, just not the same anymore. Drop 500 there.

Give up, and in bed by 11pm. Down 4000 Ish

Next day. We use the buy one get one free buffet at Cosmo. Just stop by the identity desk to get the coupon. I guess if you qualify for it by tier, you get one coupon a day to use.
Weekend brunch price, 35pp. Not worth it imo.

Ran into paytriple without knowing it was him, won a good amount with him. But lost 2 in a row that wipes out a lot of winnings. Walk around. Break even at UTH, seat 2 was on fire ( not me, I was in seat one ). Every hand he got, ended up flopping 2 pair/trips/full house.

Currently down 3k. Foul mood, walk to Aria to grab my free slice of pizza. Win 300 on one hand of paigow poker. Run. To Monte Carlo win 300 at black jack switch. Walk to NyNy to check out shake shack. Line was a mile long, prices at this location seems to be double of the original. But the burger is about the same.

Found a hot shooter at craps. He hit the features but I wasn't on it but took 200 to 800. Now down only 1600. Met up with Stevied. Couldn't get anything going. He meets up with paytriple. I Proceed to play and go on tilt a little. Back down to 3500. Call it a night at 4 am.

Damn UTH. Evil game, worse tease than a stripper.

Wake up, check out slowly. After 2qtrers of the Green Bay Seattle game, I figured gb had it locked. Decided Then to play blackjack and (use my last 500 I was willing to lose) into into 3500. Use the 2k profit to buy back one marker. After some more fuzzy accouting, I'm with 1600 in my pocket with one marker left at 2k.

That pivotal moment at the end of the trip. CHASE or RUN. As I walked by the high limit cage dealing with one marker, I find out somehow the games going into OT. I pull out my blank check to write off the marker before I leave. BUT

The same roulette that I have been bouncing around all weekend is next to the cage. Plus a tv at the correct angle, the CHASE was on. I put away the check, get 5 blacks and start again.

(How many times have we heard the stories of trying to chase a few more bucks and go into ruin). Turning 500 into 975 and chasing that yellow chip turns to disaster.

Well I'm glad to report, great roulette session during coin flip to Seattle long ball. I hit 12 in a row, no zeros, no funny business. 2200 up. Buy back the last marker. Showed some #%%#*# restraint, and walked out with all my markers 1300 extra.

    Not a big win but I'm 1:1 for 2015.
Checked my theo, my host in off Sunday/Monday. Host on duty has me for theo of 1256 for 9hrs of play. Less than my usual due to casino bouncing and scared money on day 2.

Walked to bellagio to get some air, bought an LV wallet thing for the wife. Gave pphold a call and met him at ceasers high limit room. I'm nursing my win, waiting for my flight out. Borrowed 1 black chip from pphold and made another 400. Crazy slow game, dealers were slow. I know why Packer calls it GEEZERS. I think Its too professional and old school in there.

Stole some chinese style roast duck and Singapore rice noodle in HL room. Chit chat with pphold for a bit and cab out a WINNER.

Host emails me after I get home and she can't comp my 35 dollar buffet due to the win. Cheapos.

First 4 aces during down time.

    1. Pphold, is an awesome guy, more importantly he's also a lucky SOB.
3/3 positive sessions over the past few months. Sls/Aria/geezers 4-500 at each. hit and run style. For maybe less than 20 mins each place.

    2. Cosmo comp/host restructure is coming and happening. I don't like my current host too much? I couldn't get my 35 dollar buffet cleared out due to a winning session.

    3. Cosmo rating formulas seems to have change. As I generated less this trip than usual or it has to do with my gaming choice.
    - changes from me is less bj. But more UTH and bacarrat.

    4. NyNy is nicer than I remember and has some good dining options outside. The casino vibe is better than ph to me.

    5. Bally new entrance will be nice and better than the old walking side walk with poorly kept water feature. Says open in feb, currently still fenced off. Looks more like end of feb as no stores started set up process yet.

    6. Cet double deck rules seem poor still. Maybe it was just the ones I saw. High limit is 3:2 but non of them let u double after split

    7. Last thing, thanks to paytriple, his betting system on the wheel has saved me 150 x 3. As the green zero showed up 3 times while I was playing.

Met someone playing the 1+3 system at roulette, we were basically piggybacking each other's identical bets at the Cosmo.
I thought it was a bit weird in a Twilight Zone kind of way, like seeing someone else with your face.
Didn't formally introduce ourselves or talk much except both exhorting the wheel to "stay low" or "come on high number" and hi-fiving with wins.
Later, I receive a PM from Firstkill saying, "Hey did I just play roulette with you?" It turns out he learned to play this system from Packer, after I had shown Packer during my Dec 1st trip!

Hey hey my friend! Great TR and you and I are 1-0 for the year! Way to go. glad you agree about GEEZERS. Good comps, good concerts great shopping but there is a reason they comp better. Too GEEZER for me and im no spring chicken. that was BS for the host to call you for the 35.00.. If I were you I would never stay there again unless I had no choice. 9 hours of play at your avg and only 1250 in THEO? Man, Cosmo's Theo calculations are really weird. That same play at Aria or Wynn would be triple. Anyway great job! Screw Cosmo! See you at March Madness! Let me know if you want to stay at Wynn..

Nice report, fk. Glad to see your chase ended up to the good!

    A couple questions....

    1. what is your betting method at roulette?

    2. what did the players and dealers start arguing about when you were at PH? My guess is probably a hardway or something the player thought they had out there but didn't. I hate when people argue because you're right - it kills the mood.

    3. They wouldn't comp a $35 buffet because you won? Have you had that happen before or is it just because the host is a jerkoff?

    thanks Rocky.
    1. I use the Paytriple method. It only works on single zero wheels that will give you 50% back on your 1:1 paying bets.
    - those are black/red or (1-18) or (19-36)
    - you play 3 units on (1-18) or (19-36) which is the one to one part
    - 1 unit on the combination of 2 rows, to basically cover 2/3 of the board.
    - if the zero comes you lose the 1 unit, and 1/2 of the 3 unit
    - its the same payout as playing 1 unit on the "3rds" and better on 2 out of the 3 "3rds"
    2. the argument was at Cosmo. the large table at the intersection
    - people were dropping bets while players were setting the dice
    - player tossed chips, called a bet while the crew was organzing chip stacks. dice were "out" BUT NOT THROWN YET.
    - his bet won, but they called it a late bet and wouldn't pay him.
    - guy said $%$%$ to the pit crew and it got escalated. (bad thing is he actually knew how to play and was polite)
    - he wasn't a drunk ass. the crew wasn't paying him attention
    3. I came in on a room comp, generated the theo. Had a buy one get one buffet to the room. 35 bucks. I will post my depart letter. Maybe I am reading between the lines.

    host Email, copy/paste

Nice meeting as well…safe trip home.
Based on your played and our comp guideline…I’m not able to pick up any addition off L ….sorry ok.
    Winning is good too, right?

    Thanks

you are exactly correct, that one day I spent at Wynn. I generated more theo with less average bet and less hours. I suspect 25% less.

Interesting method! I will have to give it a shot. I don't hit the wheel much so it seems to be perfect to take a quick shot with. I'll try it out over March Madness!

I have seen some crews with quick no bet triggers and some who will book it. A couple times I have been distracted and forgot to throw out my horn hi yo on the comeout and I will just drop it onto the table and call the bet (so my hands and chips don't get in the way). Most of the time the crew books it but its always a two way so they definitely have some skin in the game on that one. Some will not book it though and I understand it. I generally hate late bets especially when shooting...but know people get distracted sometimes. If it happens over and over it gets annoying.

But if the crew wasn't paying him any attention and the dice were still sitting there I can understand his frustration.

Most of the arguments I see is when someone is pissing and moaning over a white or red chip center bet. That kills the vibe with a quickness.

Not comping a $35 meal is petty, I think. He creates more negative reaction to keeping that on there with the play you gave versus just wiping it off. I mean, does he want to dig his heels in on that? Doesn't make sense.

Like Big Worm says in Friday "its the principality of it, homie"

Issue was, left side of stick man was busy, we were packed plus had more complex bets. Right side had 3 people playing field and pass without odds. Shooter was right to the stick man and routinely sent the dice out before the crew could set all the new bets on the left.

Good one FK. Good to see you. All weekend I seemed to miss the hot table. Looking at all those greens you had at NYNY I was impressed with only $200 buy in. I should have eaten dinner faster. Thanks again for cab ride to Cosmo
