Funny story, last time not only did it get the waitress to bring me drinks without asking, she gave me her number (after making fun of me for ordering a mimosas at 6am). I think I tipped her $25 when I first sat down and never had an empty crown and coke.

Does this normally work or was I on my A game that night?

    This was at the Aria.

Probably really slow at 6am. I think the best shift for them is probably at night. I know I was playing at Palazzo and just tipped the standard dollar at the table and the lady kept bringing water and OJ to me. She even left the drinks sometimes without giving me time to tip and I just gave her tip when she came back. I think it depends on the other patrons of the casino and if they are tipping or business is slow. I am sure you would have been priority if you did that at any casino.

Indeed. As long as you are the biggest 'George' in the Cocktail Waitress's zone, then you'll be the most popular. Being at a craps table with a dozen big tippers also guarantees receiving refills quicker than you can drink.

If you intend to "park" in one area of the casino for a while I usually make a point to tip $5-$10 for the first drink to make sure she remembers me, and then $2 or more per beverage after that. if I'm playing a table game or craps I tend to order wine (insert plug for Jordan Cabernet), and a water....waitress gets a red chip every time I see her after my first!

I do the same as GChrome. $5-10 for The first and then usually 2 or 3 for each drink after that depending on what I'm having. More if I'm at a table usually. Almost never have complaints about drink service.

    I do the same thing.
I'm usually at a table and will tip a red chip for every round.I do it even if I am ordering coffee at 7am.
    Seems to work well.
At a VP bar if they comp the first round for me and or my wife it is always $5 for first round and maybe $2-$5 for ever round after that

I agree with all of the above BUT, I will also add this. Your attitude can get you a long way as well. Have a great, friendly attitude. Knowing what you want to order when the waitress gets there also helps as they are often quite busy. If I am unfamiliar with them and they aren't super busy, I ask if their shift just started and how their day/night is going ? Also, if it's their "friday", Just small talk. These girl's/ladies work very hard, and are on their feet for very long hours, take good care of them and they will take good care of you. And if you are somewhere where you are not getting good drink service - tell someone so they can change it, and if you tell them and they don't, gamble elsewhere.

I can tell you that when I go to my favorite casino's on the strip, I don't even have to tell them what I want, as soon as they see me they know what I want.

This always works!!!! I will usually tip anywhere from $10-$20 depending on the waitperson and they give me 5star service!!!! If their shift ends and I am still playing they usually inform the person taking over! They don't give me their number thank goodness since they are predominately female as I am!!

I pretty much limit my serious play to VP at bartops and usually always get steady drink service. Just start with $5-$10 tip to get things going, and bet max in whatever denom you're playing. $1-$2 per drink thereafter, and you'll be taken care of.

I guess I am the tight ass. I bring a wad of two dollar bills and give one per drink, be it the first, 5th or last drink of the night for me. My drinks are never empty and the CW always seems more than pleased with the tip.

If I'm going to be in one location for a while and want to get tanked, I'll tip $5 for starters...if she comes back quickly from then on, $1 per drink. If she doesn't come back quick, then I'll NOT tip (as I've already given her $5 and am receiving shitty service)
If I'm at a PaiGow or Crap Table, then $1 per drink no matter what (since all the other tippers are there too)

I have a tighter ass than you. (Not that I would know anything about yours) I tip a dollar regardless. If I am really in a fantasyland where I think I have a shot at the CW, I'll tip five. A long time ago, I tipped a five, and realized that I can't step down from a five after I've given a five the first time.

Yep $1 per drink for me too has always had them coming promptly (if you ask for a water in addition to your drink, give an extra $1 for that too). You'd be surprised how many people don't tip at all.

This sounds more like a brag for getting the CW number ;P so congrats and hope that worked out for ya!

Like many I will start out with $10-20 to get the ball rolling...especially if I plan on anchoring down at a craps table awhile. Having a good attitude and being nice also goes without saying (even when you're losing!!)

Found this to work at video poker bars, at shift change the bartender that I tipped well told relief to "comp these 2 here whatever they want." So we had them come up with some custom cocktails.
