I'm heading out for the Super Bowl in 2 weeks and I'm booked at the Linq. I'm having 2nd thoughts after reading some reviews about the construction and smallish rooms at the Linq. I can switch to the Flamingo if I want. I'm not too picky when it comes to rooms I'm not in them much but I would like a little space in them.
Looking to get some feed back from some people who may have stayed at the Linq recently.
    Thanks

I don't know about the status of construction at the Linq but my understanding is that the rooms at Flamingo are even smaller. If you need some space, you are going to have to go further south on the strip because the rooms at Harrah's aren't much better.

Flamingos rooms are bigger but after the Linq renovation the rooms look to be pretty nice. Since it is not pool season I would give the Linq a shot. If you do go Flamingo get a go room or a mini suite.

I've stayed at the Flamingo in a Go Luxury room and that was plenty big enough. I just like to try to places. From the looks of the Linq rooms they look real small.

I stayed at Flamingo NYE. I have always gotten very nice comp rooms from CET until then. The room was OK Sq Foot wise, But I have had nicer bathrooms in old motel 6's. The Elevators at Flaming are a thrill ride every time you get on, you never know if they will make it up to your floor. When I wanted to get my comps from total rewards desk I went over to Linq where they helped me out and hooked me up. I could not find a host the entire time I was at Flamingo I am usually greeted by a host at some point on my visits. I am coming back for NASCAR weekend and I will be staying at the Linq, mainly because the people there were so friendly and helped me out unlike their counterparts at the Flamingo.

According to their own website, Flamingo rooms are 350 square feet. The Linq is only 300 square feet.

Stayed at the linq in November and was very pleased with rooms. Rooms "feel" bigger due to minimalist furniture. I've stayed in a GO room at flamingo and would take the linq over it.

    Thanks Ron.

The first 2 times we went to Vegas (bro and me) we could care less about wasting time at the pool. Now it's pretty much a staple of each morning!

I saw (but can't find anymore) that they had rooms (actually listed on the Linq website) call 'Pool Cabana Room'. The room had a patio door that opened up onto your own patio on the pool deck. You could also get beverage service on your patio.

I don't see that as a room option anywhere, anyone know if it's still in the works?

Really, that would be your choice?

Please tell more about why. (I enjoy the Go rooms as well but would be eyeing up the Linq).

The flamingo just feels like an old hotel. The go room was fine, but nothing special. I've never been big fan of flamingo casino and bars. The Linq casino and bars, including O'Shea's just seem to have a much livelier atmosphere. Rooms were clean with plenty of room.

    That's a really harsh review!

The pool kicks butt over any other pool that isn't a day club.

I guess if you only eat the resort you stay at, then there is a point about food. But with the whole LINQ area right there...why invest in more restaurants?

The casino has Margarita Ville Casino right inside. The party pit is fun. The rest of the casino isn't my vide.

The rates quoted are not the norm. Weekends still regularly over $100, all the way to $300.
Yes if your a TR member they can be less...but there isn't a fire sale on rooms!

Vegas Chatter should be ashamed for trying to play both sides of the fence. In order to quote low rates they refer to the total rewards website...yet when they talk about long checkin lines they don't mention that there is a separate line for ANYONE who has a total rewards card, even us lowest Gold level people.

I'm a TR member and have been for many years. I was staying at PHO in November. I love Margaritaville Casino, but the Flamingo overall has been getting worn. I did notice that in some parts of the Casino they were tearing out some carpets, hopefully Flamingo will get a makeover.
I think the point of the story was the difference between the Quad and Imperial Palace compared to the LinQ. I have stayed a few times over the years and the difference is night & day. Yes, the rooms at LinQ are small like IP and smaller than Flamingo, but what caught my eye in Nov. what the Casino and the new look. Then i saw and heard things about the rooms at LinQ and it's my cup of tea.

I am one of the staunchest supporters of CET, and i want the Flamingo to do well as well as other Caesars properties, and in my estimation the Vegas Chatter article was kind of harsh, but like i said, it's not so much against Flamingo, but more about keeping up with the LinQ for overall value.

I am comped at Harrah's and Rio, and the two cheapest are Linq ($27 per night @ 5, and Flamingo ($37 per @ 5) standard rooms. To me it's a no brainer. And i can go next door to Margaritaville. Flamingo Hotel is a classic, just needs some minor work in the arts dept.

    Nice reply, thanks.

I just wanted to highlight for other readers that Flamingo isn't a ace people should be afraid of staying at .

I'd love to hear about the LINQ pool once it's up and running.

I am very interested in this thread. Can't be guaranteed a Go room for upcoming trip, am comped at Linq as well............maybe switching to Linq a good idea?? Do have a car, need it for first few days of trip ( staying at Orleans). Plan to park it when moving to Strip. Have never had car before. Are self parks as much a nightmare as people say? Seriously parking it Tuesday when we arrive and then driving it to airport for departure. Can I valet for that long?

Not sure if you're asking about Linq or Flamingo. Never stayed at Linq, but as far as Flamingo goes, self-park CAN be a nightmare, but it really depends on the time of day (and probably the time of year as well). On my stays (over the last 5 yrs), it's been a nightmare at times, but always a consistent pattern. Saturdays when I arrive, the garage is usually full, with the pool crowds, and I've had to park in the auxiliary lots behind Audrie/Linq Ln. Sunday AM, the garage has cleared a bit, and I move the car over, and have never had a problem finding a spot during the week. As far as valet goes, unfortunately, I've found that when the garage is that full, valet is usually restricted to TR Platinum or above. Hope that helps.

We stayed at Flamingo NYE week with a strip-view Go Room that was very nice. I haven't ever stayed at IP / Quad / Ling.....know others who have and they liked the room. Flamingo staff as a whole, couldn't have been nicer but there were many areas that are in serious need of repair / update. Enjoyed the location since it was very cold that week and so much is close by. That being said, we will go back to Bally's / Paris next trip because that feels like home and we really love the new Jubilee Rooms .... even better that the Red Rooms at Paris.
