Granted, I don't give them a lot of play, maybe 1-2,000 coin in per trip just hoping to get some freebies for family, but the latest mailer I got is $39. $20 in FB ($10 per day) & $10 in food.

Offer is good through the end of March.

    Joe,
Do you think they have that "we're the new thing on the block"
    attitude ?
And maybe, once they see they need more customers/players
they loosen up a bit on Comps ?

Don't know. They opened in 2013 and have already increased the paytables from where they started out, hoping to attract more players.

I think many hotel/casinos offer good deals for new members and new signups but once you have an established record then the offers will all depend on your play. 1 to 2000 coin in over a number of days might not warrant as much comps or discounts I guess.

I had a similar situation with the fremont over a decade ago. I was getting comps and offers for free rooms and even a free dinner on my birthday but once they found out how much I gambled the offers dried up completely. Not a problem for me as I just play and gamble as I wish and don't worry about comps or offers.

I got that same offer and booked it for two weekend nights on my next trip. It doesn't say in the offer but they do waive the resort fee (which is up to 18 bucks!). Eighty bucks for two weekend nights ain't bad for someone that can't get anytime comp rooms at Boyd, so now I'll be splitting Wed-Thur at MSS and Fri-Sat at DTG. If you only qualify for the lowest 4Q offer (BOGO room) then you're paying the same price for a much better room and you get the 4Q FP whether you stay there or not.

One thing in that mailer I'm interested in is the scratch card promotion they're advertising for March: One scratcher per 1000 points and every card is a winner...I'm wondering what the lowest prize will be. Hopefully it's like a buck of freeplay rather than some stupid BOGO at the restaurant or something.

I qualified for this mailer with one morning of play there in September for a couple of hours. I was playing a not half-bad paytable at the bar and he was comping me some good but not great rum (10 Cane). I think it's fair for the amount of play we've given them.

I spent 5 days there last summer and most here would consider me a low roller. My offer was for 3 comp nights, $40 in free play, and $20 in food and beverage. Given the noise from the Hogs & Heifer bar, the $16 margaritas at the pool (served at a snail's pace), and the mediocre room quality, it's not enough to get me back in the door.

We played there a fair amount in December, but only .25 video poker (max bet on the 8/5 Bonus machines) and a little $10 Pai Gow (now their lowest limit). Wife just got the same offer as ExVegasLocal; 3 comped nights, $40 free play, and $20 food credit. I got nothing. Strange. We play side by side, and my pace of play is faster than hers. Either they don't have a very refined system yet or they are rating on loss more than coin in. I didn't lose much over the course of our play, she did (but only maybe $200 or so).

My husband and I stayed and played there in August and neither of us has gotten anything from them. I don't get mailers from anyone actually, I don't know what it is. I guess I just don't lose enough. We're going back at the end of March and I'd love to get a mailer from someone as I'm trying to figure out where to stay.

I just booked a 3 night stay there for March with a $39/night discounted offer. No resort fee. We've given them very little play so far, so I thought this was a very fair offer (rooms for our dates were over $100/night if booked through their web site directly). There's also a small amount of food and free play on the offer. $10/day or so I think.

I'm with you. I,too, don't get any offers or mailers but that's OK with me. That way, I won't feel obligated gambling more than I want to. I'm actually satisfied with discounted or free meals or buffets..........which I get when I'm in Vegas. The rooms are cheap enough to buy.
Maybe we're not doing this the right way. But that's something I don't lose sleep over nor am I jealous because others get those comps.
We'll be there in March for MM so who cares?

My wife and I just got our offers in the mail. Hers was just like Joe's. Mine is $19/night, $40 free play, and $20 food.
I was wondering what was going to happen with our comps because I was sick on our Halloween trip and I didn't play at all. My wife probably played .25 VP for a total of four hours for our three night stay there.
I'll never figure out how they calculate who gets what.

I gave them about 15 minutes of slot play and $100 worth of craps play and I'm getting 3 free nights $40 fp and $20 food too. Do offers every make any sense?

Seems like most places have tightened their comps. In the depths of the recession we got free airfare to Vegas and rooms at Bally's for very little play. That was the high point of the weak Vegas economy. Now we stay only downtown. We gamble and lose more (but still typically only around $1200 or so for a four day trip, though my starting bankroll is $2000) and get almost no offers. Our gambling is mostly video poker at the Four Queens, Main Street Station, Fremont, California, The D, and the Downtown Grand. We only play .25 max bet, so our "coin in" is about $3000 apiece per day.

All that said, the Downtown Grand at the moment is one of the more generous with comps if you hit it at the right times. They change things so often this may not be true for long, but in October and December (our last trips) Thursday was the day to play if you're over 50. They have 5x points and special promotions, plus the S+O restaurant is half price. We spent most of a Thursday there in December playing 8/5 bonus and ended up with two 375 ml bottles of Crown Royal (their special promotion that day), over $100 in food credit (ate our next three meals there), and the offer my wife just received for the 3 free nights, $40 in free play and $20 food credit. We might have lost $200 or so between us. Just booked three nights the first week of March using her offer.

Tmaiolo and salemore, I also don't play for comps but like you I think that our play doesn't warrant them sending or giving us comps or offers or mailers (meaning we don't play enough - coin in on the machines or not rated very high on the tables, not how much we lose). I also don't care since I usually price check for hotels so will stay where ever I can get a good rate. I also don't want to worry about my play (to get offers or comps) and rather play where ever I want so I rather not have to be obligated to put in play for the discounts and offers.

I think that is my problem, I don't do the coin-in they want. I'm a hit and run player. $20 here, $20 there. But even when I feel like I played a good bit somewhere I don't get offers. I usually play more where I stay b/c it's convenient to do that so if I got a discounted offer for somewhere I would stay there and play there. Oh well.

I've given them thousands of play over multiple stays and have never received an offer. I guess they can't afford to mail to Canada. If only there were a way of sending a message over the internets...

I got a mailer last week (coincidentally the day I booked the Super Bowl trip based on the Frontier sale) from DTG for three free nights, $40 in slot play and $20 food. My buddy who is going with his wife on the same trip as me got the mailer for $39 a night.

The mailer has a promo code, so I took a photo of the mailer and sent it to him. He called and first the reservationist looked up his offer for $39. Then he said "what about this offer code" and the 3comp/$40/$20 came up and she honored that offer. According to my buddy, the reservationist said that having the promo code trumped his personal offer. I wasn't on the call (or even with him when he called) so I can only mention what he told me. But they did comp his stay based on the promo code on my mailer.

I get offers from them about 1 week before the offer. Usually 3 nights computed and very small free play.

The funny thing is I haven't been in there since their soft open. I think I lost about $150 on craps and played max bet on some penny slots for an hour total maybe. Broke even on the slots....
