After our last trip we were contacted by a sales executive who offered to assist with booking our trip and checking on offers. I told him we would be coming to town for Super Bowl weekend, but were not sure of the exact dates. I had already booked 5 COMP nights online but had not booked the airfare. He said no problem, and said we qualified for "Big Game" tickets to any of the mid-tier properties and to let him know when our dates were firm and he would check on other offers as well.

I messaged him a couple weeks ago and said our flight was booked and we would like to take him up on the "offer" of the tickets. He replied and then followed up with an apologetic phone call saying there was a "policy change" and he was no longer able to add us to the guest list. He was able to offer us 4 nights COMP and $50 in casino play. I replied and said we would stick with our 5 COMP night that was already booked and had made plans elsewhere for the big game.

We are not upset as we probably would not have gone to the party anyways, we like our other invite better. It just struck me as odd that its acceptable business to offer an invite and then take it away. I can only imagine doing that in my business, LV never ceases to amaze!

Bad business! The same situation happened with SLS shortly after they opened. They made offers to people.......drop in free play.........then rescinded.

Just went through the same thing. I had a VIP host or whatever CET is calling these guys now book me on an offer of $450 free play and 2 nights comped. no black out dates or anything. He does so and I go about with my life. i log into the TR site and I notice 1 night is comped and the other is $180. This is midweek mind you. I email the host and he told me they are making changes as well and to just tell the check in desk that "so and so" told you it would be free and to call me with any issues.

I hate going on vacation not knowing what I;m getting and I'd hate to get into a fight with the clerk. I spent a decade playing with these guys and I've never had anything like this happen until this year. They are also cutting my spend and free play in half starting in March even though my play is up.

I bet they would have cut my Jan/Feb in half as well but they sent out those offers before their bankruptcy this year.

I think they suck! Its our only option to go direct and honestly the airlines with layovers are just as bad if now worse! We paid $200 out and $190 back. My GF got hers free, she did the credit card thing just to dodge the fares! I remember the old days $79 to $129 each way!!

Yeah, its really bad business. Our crew has spent over $1000 for Britney Spears tix, rooms booked, dinner res. at CET resorts and we can't get some draft beer at their cheesy party! haha!

I started a thread about something similar happening to me with CET.

Had a luxury room in The Laurel Collection by Caesars Palace booked this November. Got a voicemail the week of the stay saying they wanted to downgrade my room to a different tower. In the end they ended up making it right when I checked in.

Fortunate for them as I would considering taking my business elsewhere for the weekend after converting my freeplay to cash. I ended up giving them many hours of play.

You guys are worrying me. I'm considering moving my next trip to an MGM property. I've been looking for an excuse to do so for a while, and the recent uncertainty might be just what I'm looking for. Getting your teeth kicked in on the tables for a weekend would sting twice as bad if they pulled a bait and switch on your offer like Venetian decided to do.

I had been staying with MGM the last year, it honestly worked great. I would get offers, call their VIP line and they were awesome. The GF prefers staying mid-strip so we took another look at CET. I admit it is nice just walking around from Ballys to PH to COSMO, two of our hangouts w out much hassle, but this is turning kinda silly.

That's terrible PR and business to rescind something like that. Any chance they were full? A couple of Super Bowl invites I got stated "first come first serve". That seems to be the only way I could rationalize it.

Not full. He said he attempted to add me to the list and due to a "policy change" I could not be added. I went from being invited to Rio, Harrah's, Bally's and Linq to nothing! haha. That is a first, in 41 years I have never been "un-invited" to anything!

Here is the original email I received inviting us.

    Ronald,

You qualify for 2 tickets for the Big Gam Parties at Bally’s, the Linq, Flamingo, Harrahs, and the Rio. Just let me know the dates and I can check hotel availability.

I'm Platinum at MGM with about 500K tier credits after two trips there and I've booked a 14 day stay at Monte Carlo because it's in the company price range ( yeah, I'm on expenses). This afternoon things changed and a buddy at work will be coming out for five days over the NASCAR weekend. He has 14,000 points, a Sapphire. He went online and found an offer for two free nights but because their online reservation system sucks he decided to call. They comped Friday and Saturday for him! This is a low level, single line, twenty five cent deuces wild only player with a $300 bankroll.

CET must be pulling back their offers due to their financial condition. Has MGM gotten word of this? Jason checked a week ago and had no offers of comped nights but today he gets a couple and they threw in some Freeplay too.

    Coincidence?

Ever since CET hit the news last month with their BK coming up my offers on the rate calendar have been changing almost daily.

CET cut my freeplay in half for this upcoming month and that's crazy because I actually increased my play. One of their divisions, Caesars Entertainment Operating Company, is about to file a prepackaged bankruptcy, so that probably has a lot to do with it. I do most of my play in AC and two of their three casinos there -- Caesars and Bally's -- are operated under CEOC.

I'm not sure. I contacted a Monte Carlo host from their website, and she was willing to comp my 4 night stay this summer. I've played there once, and it wasn't heavy play.

For anyone thinking CET is not making radicial changes, I'm reminded of the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire." There are simply too many people having issues right now for me to believe there aren't widespread changes happening. If you're one of the few who haven't yet been affected, consider yourself lucky.

I think you are exactly correct. This is not all coincidence. I believe after this next trip we will migrate back to MGM, CET seems too unstable. I think I owe it to myself out of principle alone after being "un-invited".

There is NO WAY, and I mean NO WAY, that when you check in things will be as you expect or that by telling the clerk that so and so said it would be free will fly. Please give us a report of your future fiasco!

I hate to say this but this may be a permanent change for CET.

Prior to the 2008 financial mess in my own business I would conduct training courses and my customers would bring in over $1 Million worth of my company's products to the class. I'd generate over $50K a week revenue. I'd take the class out for drinks, $1000 bar tabs would be common, take many for dinners and they'd get hats, mugs, t-shirts, etc.

Now, they still buy just as much product, I generate even more revenue but there are no drinks, no dinners, no lobsters, no hats, etc. They get a pen, maybe a cheap flashlight. Nobody expects anything anymore. Vendors from all companies are cheapskates.

They bitched for a year or so. You will too. Until you are conditioned to not expect the good comps of the past. Once CET gets away with it all others will folliow. Remember the resort fee. Only the true high rollers and whales will get schmoozed.

    Sad.
