Is there a separate check-in area at MB for platinum card members?

Yes, but I find it is usually slower. 10 or more people work the other desks, 1 at gold+. I went last week and used the regular line, and when I was done, the guy I would have been behind was still waiting. Same as MGM when I stayed there. I usually use the regular line unless it's rammed, or gold+ is empty.

Next to the not so secret door is a VIP-CI. Don't know if it is for platinum or just on invitation. Used it always, when I stayed there at the penthouse floors.

No, its right next to that. The door is not marked. Its for guests staying on the penthouse floors and is not based on mlife status (or at least has not been based on that in years past)

Yes, next to 4S door. Forgot to mention that.
Ok, it's just for the penthouse floor, didn't know about that. But it's nice to check in there!

The rules for the VIP check in at Mandalay Bay aren't exactly clear. I get different answers from different people, but if a host books your room you can use it. I once had a regular room booked by a host and I checked in at the normal check in area and she told me I needed to check in behind the unmarked doors.

I had the opposite experience. But it was a few years ago, so perhaps the procedure has changed

What about Delano? Do they have separate gold+ checkin lines? Or a VIP checkin area for host booked guests? I'm checking in there next week on a host booked room. Thanks

Host booked is not the same as VIP. VIP should as least have free limo.

Delano has a separate VIP check in room for host booked rooms. I'm not sure if they have a separate gold+ line.

The girls that work in VIP are awesome. They are probably the friendliest on the Strip, if you are a return guest they will remember your name, sometimes your guest's, etc. Great group of folks and everything goes very fast and smooth. The lady that runs the open bar on the top floor, Jolie, I think is also great and very accommodating.

    Totally agree with that!

Even more friendly than Four Season or SkySuites Tower @ Aria!

There are two ladies runing the penthouse lounge, one with german background, and they are both unbelievable courteous.

The VIP-CI from THEhotel was on the left of the regular counter behind a door. Don't know, if it's still there.

The VIP check in at Delano is still in the same place as when it was The Hotel. Just to the left of the regular registration desk.

I believe that a host or VIP Services has to "code" your reservation for you to be able to use VIP check in. I suggest you call VIP Services and see if you can use it or just walk in and ask when you get there.
