Are CET properties raising their resort fees AGAIN?!

We all know they recently did the $25 + tax "one size fits all" resort fee switch for their Las Vegas properties.

But looking at the Total Rewards site... it looks like Caesars, Cromwell, Paris and PH are now $29 + tax for some dates I'm playing around with in May... That would tie them for the highest resort fees with MGM's higher properties.

Yeesh. CET is a sinking ship...

 

I took a quick look at room rates in June. The Cromwell's resort fee came out to be $29 a day. Makes me laugh!

 

I booked TI a few days ago. It's $29 + tax as well.

 

Are TI's fees still "optional" though? $30 for TI may be even crazier than Paris/PHo.

 

IIRC, it's only the TV deal that is optional. Not crazy at all. They have an itemized list showing that it' s great deal

 

The Great Recession is over! I don't expect prices and nuisance fees to go down until we have another economic downturn.

 

TI resort fees are also optional for some qualified reward club members. Not sure what you need to do to be qualified, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. I'm staying at the TI this coming weekend (after the Computer Electronics Show). Price per night started off super low but after taxes and fees, I'm at $100/night. I'm going to try the $20 trick and see what that get me.

Actually MGM Grand and other MGM properties now have a $32.49 resort fee........OUCH ! ! !

 

Yes.... $29 + tax = $32.49.

 

I book through a host at TI and I dont pay the resort fee. Although I cant get into the gym unless I pay it. On that note at least TI gives you $30 off your next stay when you pay the fee so it really isnt the end of the world. If everyone else did that I dont think there would be nearly as much hatred for these fees since you'd pretty much pay it once and keep kicking the can down the road every time you stay.

 

I see that the Luxor is up to $28 + tax...I think it was $22 + tax last year. The rooms are comped, so it won't be too much of a problem, but I would not stay there if I had to pay for the room and then add on the RESORT fee...just not worth it for the Luxor. I am just cheap that way. Will move DT to stay resort free on those comped rooms and just visit the strip.

 

I think that more and more folks are gonna start to do the same thing!!!.

 

Be careful downtown. Several of the properties down there have an additional 'Fremont Street Experience Fee' unless things have changed. $5 per night at Binion's, Fremont, California, Main Street Station, the D, Four Queens, Golden Gate, Golden Nugget, Lady Luck, and the Las Vegas Club

 

false. Only the Golden Nugget has a 5 dollar ¨experience" Binions? Hotel has been closed for years. Four Queen and the Boyd properties are still free of resort fees.

 

The D, Golden Gate, and Plaza is $20 a night though.

 

I had been in the camp of "Dont care what the resort fees are". I just add them into the price and figure out my best option.

Now, it is getting out of hand. I can book some nights for around $50 and then a resort fee of $29????? So, the resort fee is almost 60% of the nightly rate??? Crazy!

 

I have always been a CET player. With the questions that exist in their future and CET needing every dollar they can get, I am moving to other places. I just don't want to put all my eggs in the CET basket. On my upcoming trip I am staying at the Orleans and Four Queens. I am excited for Orleans and the better poker room. I stayed at Four Queens last trip and they are coming up with some great offers to get me back. Four Queens will be getting a lot of coin in from me because of their great Video Poker. I will be adding another stop on the strip to give me another strip option. If the CET boat sinks, I will have other boats to float.

 

They better start throwing some more useful shit into these resort fees if they are getting to the $30/night mark. That is just out of hand...

 

I absolutely agree - give us something that we actually want with the resort fees and it would at least make sense. Right now, $28 - $30 a night for nothing just ticks people off. If I am getting comped rooms - if even a couple with my lower play - they apparently want me back. But then they hit me with the resort fee - not smart but as many will say, they are here to stay. Hoping the marketing departments are taking a good, long hard look at what this is doing for their publicity.

My husband has been wanting to go on a cruise. Even if they charge resort fees, which I am guessing they do, I would save a bundle of money not gambling and may even get something for those fees.

Uh, oh....they have casinos on cruises, don't they.....may need to rethink this...
