Pho Spice Market buffet

Sooooooo....how's the Spice Market buffet these days? I ate there back in 09' and it was pretty decent. Ate there again a few years later and it was total crap. Haven't been back since.

We are staying at Pho for the first time this weekend. Was curious to hear on what the skinny is with this buffet.

 

Food is a matter of taste ate there in 2010-2011-2012-2014 never tought it was crap

 

It has been several months since I last ate there, but I always liked it. I am not a big buffet eater and don't like most of them. But I put Spice market on the second tier of buffets (along with Aria and Mirage)

 

Did the buffet twice on our last trip. Once at breakfast and once at dinner. If you have a platinum card or higher you get VIP seating. Nicer service, hot crab legs etc. No problem with any meals there.
I think it's the best of CET bunch in Las Vegas. Good service, drinks kept filled, no dishes accumulating on the table.

 

We ate dinner there NYE week. Server brought a big platter of hot crab legs for our table of 5. Good & meaty....more so than some other buffets. In the seafood section, they had a spicy shrimp/pasta dish that was sooooo good. I got some when they had just brought out a fresh batch & it was as good as any I've had in other sit down restaurants. A couple of the guys raved about the ribs...went back for 2nds. Salad section was very fresh with good variety. We were in the VIP section and usually have the same female waitress that is terrific BUT we instead had a unfriendly, grumpy guy who seemed pissed off at the requests of a couple at the next table & he left much to be desired. He is not the norm there tho....

 

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Pho as in "Vietnamese noodle soup", and I thought "WOW, a Pho buffet!!!"

 

Me, too. I know PH = Planet Hollywood. What does the O stand for?

 

PHO = Planet Hollywood

THO = Westward Ho

There are many nicknames of Vegas Hotels...........many are gone now, but will never be forgotten.

 

I thought it was fine. If you didn't like it 5 years ago, you're probably not going to like it now. Try the Paris buffet; it's a little more high end but not Bacchanal high end.

 

I can't remember the last time I read a positive review for Paris's buffet on here. I assumed its been going downhill.

As for the op, spice market is pretty good overall to me at least. But I dunno how it was back in 09, I was on a ten year vegas hiatus then.

 

I agree. Five years ago, I would say the Paris buffet was one of the better ones. It really went downhill. I won't eat there again unless there is a major revamp

 

I've been going to Vegas for 10 years and the Paris buffet is as good as it's ever been. It's definitely better than PHo which has maintained where it's been since Caesars took over. It used to be better before that though.

 

Definitely, Paris is better than PHO. Maybe, I caught 'em on bad days, but PHO has gone down from years' past. And, may I am biased towards Paris because the foods they offer are substantially different than other buffets.

 

Never had Paris buffet. Always saw mixed reviews about it. I may just hit Earl of Sandwich or whatever it's called and take in a sandwich. Best bang for the buck buffet we've had is Red Rock Casino. Super cheap and very decent quality. I'm also not big on buffets. I like eating at nice resteraunts. But I try and save a buck when we hit our first food joint.

 

I had both lunch & dinner at the Planet Hollywood buffet back in August. Didn't think much of either. Not much I wanted to eat there at lunch and same with dinner. Prime rib at dinner was just OK. I'd rate PHO as 3rd tier as far as the buffets go. Paris is much better. Larger selection of food and better quality. Out of the CET buffet choices, Planet Hollywood is toward the bottom, just above the Flamingo. My first choice in Vegas for dinner buffet is The M. Prime rib is usually very good there and the selection of food is HUGE and quality very good. Price is lower than the CET buffets too. Winner winner.

 

Thanks for the reviews everyone. George from your review and a few others, it seems like Pho buffet hasn't changed. Been wanting to try the M for so long. I may just have to stop there in my way into Vegas this time.

Search and you will find pretty much the same reviews which is the food is average and the cup cakes are dry.
Been there once and can confirm the reviews were spot on.

 

I'd agree with the M or even GVR but more difficult to get to if you don't have a ride. On the strip I'd go with wicked spoon, bachanal at caesars, Bellagio or Mirage off the top of my head. Not necessarily in that order.
