Heard scuttlebutt about them becoming a bit cheaper in a litany of areas since the bankruptcy issues but here's what just happened:

NOTE: This is for the Atlantic City market not Vegas, which I'm about to try next.

Called yesterday to get a room next Friday at Harrahs AC, which normally I have offers for almost whenever and was told they couldn't do anything because of concerts in the area which will presumably increase demand. Fine, that's understandable.
Called today to try for the following Friday, which there's NOTHING going on in AC as I checked multiple places online and even called their tourism folks, and could only get a discounted rate of 59 per night? Wtf.

Here's my stats which I know they have me recorded at as I ask my friends in the Pit in Baltimore's Horseshoe as well as Harrah's when I'm there. And I'm there quite a bit lol.

    Game: Blackjack
    Avg Bet: 75-150
    Duration: 3-4 hours per day.

Mind you I'm not asking for anything crazy like RFB or something else up front but just a room.... on a Friday...for me to bring around 1500-2000 to play with for one night... and this is NOT Vegas either lol.

Any ideas? This is truly aggravating me to the n'th degree.

Up and until my last trip last month in December, this was never a problem but I ask because it's a New Year and notwithstanding me asking the woman I spoke with if there's a new policy change (and her, somewhat evasively, stating "I don't think that's the case"), this is a bit odd....

I don't think the recent activity has effected offers. I was getting $250 freeplay at Caesars up to Forum tower before last week, as of last week I am also seeing Palace Tower available, so my offers have actually improved one little notch.

I guess you would have to look at your ADT because that is everything. I am only Platinum, but I don't play often at CET casinos, and a lot of times its drop in play, since we are usually staying at Cosmo. I'm playing a ton of $2 6/5 Boner Deluxe and betting $100 hardways, so my Theo (assuming its measured correctly) is probably pretty high.

It looks like you are gambling pretty smart, sticking to BJ, which I believe in AC has good rules and a low house advantage. Unfortunately, these days they know you aren't "paying" them as much as the less intelligent or shall we say less disciplined gambler. :)

No, I don't have a host because I'm not sure I really hit the level of play meritorious of one. I would like to have one that being said, since I do play frequently. I play a lot more on the East Coast as I live in DC (Believe me I would love to be in Vegas more but the gf thinks I play too much to begin with lol).

I think you're probably right BeeJay, just a bit frustrating I guess as I tried multiple dates and I have, at least what I believe, to be relatively low expectations. My play, and loses lol, have been ramping up recently which is why it's relatively paradoxical that I cannot get a Friday. I have offers online for pretty much any day in January, HOWEVER, when I called they gave me some bullshit about how the dates are subject to availability.

I mean, who wants to gamble in AC in January on a weekend when nothing is going on? According to CET, evidently everyone is flocking there but that appears dubious.

I need to just go to Vegas lol

Lol--definitely agree just need to go to Vegas--its a helluva flight from the East Coast and I've only done it once and that was at the end of a project so I didn't have to go back as far. I don't think I could do a weekend trip.

I keep thinking I'm going to go to AC but I never make it, you would think they would make it easier to get to from NYC, but I guess there was insufficient demand for anything other than the slow ass busses.

I guess there are a lot less rooms now in AC with all the property closings, so that could also be effecting the supply-demand situation.

I live in DC, too. I've been doing the el cheapo MARC train to Charm City to sneak in some time at Horseshoe. Last year, I had free nights galore in New Orleans. When I log in now, those same nights are between $89 and $389. Good thing I locked down my birthday weekend in June for a trip to NOLA before the comps vanished!

bdautch- shoot me a message, we should meet up in the Hood they call Baltimore to play sometime (I play pretty much blackjack but would be more than happy to play your game of choice after hitting Baltimore Brews lol)

BeeJay- I agree, AC really is more of a town now where tour buses come in with the middle age families from North Jersey and Long Island (that's not meant to be disparaging btw..) However, I still get excited when going as I see those lights from the AC Expressway and know, as the sign above my head says after the last toll, "In one mile you'll be a million miles away". I get this shit-eaten grin on my face everytime. Of course I'm in my late 20s so this is still exciting to me lol

Harrah's AC was giving rooms away on the 10th. Borgata and Harrah's were both very crowded last Saturday.

Do you think it is possible with the closure of the AC casinos that room supply is down. I know it is in Tunica because when they closed Harrahs Tunica I can still get comped rooms I just have to plan ahead a little better.

This doesnt sound right. Did you try it online at TR website? I just tried online for the next 2 Fridays and they are offering me full comped rooms for all 3 AC locations. My average bet is about $150 at craps...I live in NJ but ive only been down in AC 4 seperate days in 2014....4-5 hours play each time....

Well, I didn't make it up if that's what you're implying. I did just check online and suddenly I have This Friday comped, but still not the next two. I'm hoping that the closer I get to the dates, and with insufficient demand, I will have them comped as well. We shall see

If anything my offers have got better. Have you tried just looking through the total rewards site? I play quarter VP and I can get free rooms in AC looking at the site now. Just strange that at those level you get nothing. Did you short play them a couple times?

Get a host. Wife plays at Harrahs,Chester, Pa. for one reason or another this past Thanksgiving, wife couldn't get rooms in AC. Always could, anytime, be it Saturday at noon for that night. Well she mentioned it to her host in Chester, we had rooms after that, with her host calling her to confirm for 2 nights. My wife, the penny machine Queen!!

I had a similar experience between Christmas and New Year's. I logged into my total rewards account, and there were a few offers for Vegas, none for AC. Nothing available in January either. Today I received an email from Total Rewards and I have a comp at Harrah's AC for Friday night (tomorrow) which is very rare for me, and comps for Sunday through Thursday for January and February.

So last week we ended up spending a night in Absecon (Red Roof Inn, a former Fairfield Inn), it's a short drive to the Borgata. The next day we decided to call TR and got a same day comp at Bally's on my wife's TR account.

In my experience, ac is usually somewhat quiet on fridays but busier than m-th since ppl are either coming in after work for the weekend or waiting for traffic to die down including the borgata but saturday's are a zoo.

Our offers were definitely tighter this year over the holidays, which is usually very easy to get. Got two nights, weekday, at the Rio, period. Got three nights at Sams Town and they seem far more eager for our business. They also have far more of the machines I like. Too bad they are so far out in the toolies!

Hey, the recession is over! They no longer have to offer freebees to low rollers to fill their rooms!

EDIT: alright I figured out what CET is doing.

The past two weeks have reveled a pattern. The weeks preceding a Friday and Saturday are not registered as comps, HOWEVER, the week of once Monday, or in my case Sunday as I saw today, rolls around Friday then Saturday end up being comped.

BTW- I'm also hitting Harrah's AC this Friday after work, driving up from DC, if anyone is there let me know and the first drink is on me !

I believe they might be falling off a bit. Although I don't have my exact ADT in front of me, my play has remained pretty consistent over the last few years. My offers have fluctuated a bit, but I typically get $200-$550 free play with a room comp at any Vegas CET hotel. My home casino is in Vegas, so no local play. I usually make 3-4 trips per year.

Right now, I'm at the low end of that ($200 free play) and I would have to pay if I booked at CP or Cromwell for this summer. That is a definite change.

It's funny, my girlfriend is platinum, I'm diamond. We make all of our trips together, and my ADT is higher. She is comped less hotels online, but her up front offers online exceed what I'm able to get. She gets better, more frequent offers.

I'm sure the recent changes are a combination of the recent state of the economy, their looming bankruptcy and some other formula they use to try to increase trip value or loyalty. Funny though, it's done the opposite for me. I know I'm a small small fish in the big big sea, but their frequent changes are wearing thin on my patience. MGM properties are much nicer, the only reason I've been at CET was they seemed to treat lower end players like myself better over the years. If the free play and F&B offers dry up, a room at an MGM property is worth much more to me versus a room at any CET property. For my trip in March, I'll be staying at a CET property. For my summer trip, I'll be staying at an MGM property for the first time in 15 years.
