"Better" depends on what you're looking for. Both hotels are very nice. Cosmo, obviously, has a more modern look. The Cosmo standard room is nicer. The crowd at Cosmo is much younger than Bellagio. On the whole, I think Bellagio has better dining options, but Cosmo is decent in that category as well. Bellagio has the better spa. Cosmo has better customer service. It really does depend on what you want for the anniversary

I think currently, almost everyone would go with Cosmo. I think the rooms at Bellagio aren't as great these days? Actually I haven't heard anything about them in a while.

What's the price difference? If one is drastically cheaper I'd go with that one. But I think in March, the weather is nice, it'd be cool to have a view balcony at Cosmo!

Yes, the crowd is younger at Cosmo, but I don't see that as a problem. Not like you are trying to get into the nightclub (right?) haha! I've never (neither has my family) felt out of place being there.

    +1 to UK's comments.

Really, while they're both very nice places, they couldn't be more different. Bellagio is something of the Grande Dame of the strip and Cosmo is the hip new "it" place.

Without knowing more about you, it's hard to recommend which would be best for you. But for my money, the terraces in the Cosmo rooms (particularly ones overlooking the fountains) and the much friendlier (at least IMO) service put Cosmo a notch above Bellagio.

But do tell us more about yourself because Cosmo certainly isn't for everyone.

I've stayed at both and for me there is no contest.

The Cosmo has much easier access to the strip. The room I had at Bellagio it took 10 minutes from my room to reach the valet area (even further to the strip). If you are driving the Cosmo garage is way more accessible to your rooms vs. walking through the casino to reach the hotel elevators. The vibe is obviously different, and this will come down to preference. Cosmo is hip/mondern/cool and Bellagio is classic/luxury.

I've never stayed in a hotel I loved as much as Cosmo and this includes stays at Bellagio and Wynn in Vegas.

We are both around 60 years young, do not care about night life, at a point now in life that plush is nice. We see something we want, we get it. Never stayed at either of these places which is why I am seeking others opinions.
    Thanks for your feed back

UKFanatic nailed most of the pros/cons. Bellagio is very "classic" and attracts a much older crowd than Cosmopolitan. We checked the Bellagio off our Vegas "bucket list" when we stayed there this past June.

I'd get the fountain view room at Cosmo. Aria and Bellagio are next door in case you want to explore.

    I'll give a differing opinion...

I think the Bellagio is a no-brainer for your situation. The Bellagio has a grand feel to it. I stayed there on a big anniversary (when I was in my 30's) and it is still the most romantic feeling hotel I've stayed at in LV. I almost never stay there, but for certain situations it's the best. Especially if you've never done it.

The Cosmo is more modern, but the casino is small and the young party crowd isn't optimal for your situation. I personally wasn't blown away with their rooms. Nice, but didn't feel all that vegas-y to me. Take a walk through, but don't stay there.

The Bellagio has recently updated their rooms (not sure if it was all of them, you'll have to check). Tip them well, let them know the occasion, and I'm guessing they'll take care of you.

BTW - they have a channel that plays the fountain music in the room, which was fun when watching out the window.

    Have fun and eat well.

I could easily make an argument either way.

Bellagio is the classy place, and we are 60's as well. Calmer, classy.

Cosmo is great, but a bit more hip. But, it is hard to put a price on the outside balcony. It is really something special. Without knowing more, I would go for the outdoor balcony.

As said, you can stay at Cosmo and play elsewhere, easily. Bellagio and Aria are close. Planet Hollywood and Paris across the street.

Your profile says you been to Vegas 12 times, so I assume you have a feel for both places.

I don't like either casino for entirely opposite reasons. Bellagio seemed stuffy and quiet, while Cosmo alternated between obnoxious and loud and totally empty. The rooms at Bellagio are definitely plush, and Cosmo's more modern and clean. But Cosmo is right in the middle of things and has great dining options while Bellagio is set back from the Strip and I found it hard to grab a quick small meal or snack, especially late at night.

I absolutely love the Bellagio. Best buffet I've ever had, the conservatory is always impressive and I always try to hit the fountain show once or twice. But I've never stayed there. I have stayed at the Cosmo. Now, it was my birthday party and I splurged on a big suite. But I absolutely loved the experience. Just awesome. Bellagio is probably "classier" and may have more traditional gourmet restaurants but the Cosmo has an amazing number of food options in the casual/classy category. On a busy weekend, the "young, trendy crowd" there might get annoying but I've never found it to be too bad. I vote the Cosmopolitan.

For what it's worth, we are 57 and we celebrated our 31st at Bellagio in 2013. At check in, they upgraded us to a tower suite when I told them it was our anniversary...we also had the advantage that we've stayed there a few times. We also reserved spots at the Cypress Pool 3 of the 5 days...loved the quiet and never had to worry about a spot or shade. Bellagio treated us very well.
We did an anniversary dinner at Prime. They seated us at a fountain view table and presented us with an anniversary cake after dinner. They made us feel very welcome.
We've never stayed at Cosmo but from what we have seen and read we feel it may not be a fit for us. But that's us.
We have stayed at Bellagio six times. We had reservations last April but had to cancel due to a family members health issues. We will be going back ~ Bellagio has become our Vegas spot to stay and relax.

Based on your age and criteria, I think Bellagio is the best choice.

I vote for Cosmo, for quick access to just about everywhere center-Strip.

Everyone should keep in mind the age, and the celebration of the OP. I would not want to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary at the Cosmo with a bunch of club hopping, drunk college kids running around.

Both properties are equal in luxury, and in my opinion the service is much better at Bellagio.

I would recommend Bellagio just based on the merit of the atmosphere you are likely going to encounter, and want to be surrounded by.

In choosing between those two Bellagio wins. For a special occasion we always stay at the Mandarin. Make sure they know it's your anniversary.

For a 30th anniversary? Definitely Bellagio unless you're young at heart.

I am in the midst of making a similar choice for an upcoming trip with my Mom to celebrate her 70th birthday. Cosmo is on my list simply because of the terraces. From an overall perspective though, I feel that either the Wynn or Bellagio may be the most appropriate properties for my Mom. I am definitely leaning towards Bellagio because my Mom loved Ocean's 11 hahahahaha.

    Have fun!
