I just got my March mailer and it's still 4 nights comped, but my free play has been cut from $75 to $35. In itself not a big deal, but now I'm worried about the limo, Gold Card and suite. Are they on the chopping block. I guess I'll find out in 5 weeks.

Unless I'm wrong..the GoldCard/Limo/Suite is HOST comps, rather than Direct Mail (Marketing)...so it's hard to tell whether or not you'll still get it...

After seeing the thread's title, I was genuinely surprised to see you as the OP. Yikes! If you lose some of the love, where's that leave the rest of us MSS fans?

Let us know how the limo and suite go; and just out of morbid curiosity, what would your next place be if there's a Joe – MSS falling out?

We were just chatting about that. I can live without the limo, there's always the WAX and we can live without the suite - I think, there might be a debate over that! :wink2: But the Gold Card would be a make think long and hard. We have racked up 2.2 million points on our card simply because we haven't paid for food, oh and maybe because of a little gambling. :evillaugh I have been asked several times why I don't cash some of those in and this is exactly why I didn't.

It would make sense to stay downtown and use those points for food at Boyd. So, to answer the question and in order:
    Queens
Plaza - I'll get used to the perfume odor
    DT Grand.

We both like Suncoast, but they haven't shown us any love. I had a host tell me just last week their comps are based on theo, not coin-in and I don't qualify. Honestly, that is hard to believe. I guess I wouldn't rule out Sam's, but easy transportation is an issue.

Believe me, MSS works off of Theo also..but there's a little more leeway in there, because of the "Gold Card" stuff (Which HAS to come from a Host contacting management)
At the Coast Properties, it's 100% Theo driven...Basically the casino assigns you a number (The amount of money they can expect to make off of you per day) and THAT'S IT. If the number doesn't coincide with certain offers, tough luck...
I know you love Downtown Joe, but I think you should seriously contemplate CET...If you played $10k coin-in per day on video poker, you would easily qualify for Diamond...obviously your food MIGHT not be 100% free...but I don't think anyone else downtown (aside from Boyd) is going to offer that...

Uh oh, this doesn't sound good Joe. You leaving MSS could turn out to be the biggest upset of the year! I see now why you saved your points though!

The way the 4Q's is going these days, I can't imagine going from an MSS suite to one of their rooms. Even their suites are tired looking. I can see the Plaza working though, I've been giving it some serious thought myself lately especially since they raised their payouts.

So the SC host actually told you that you didn't qualify for comps?! That can't be right. Sure, your playing a game with a low house edge but it's not like you're playing nickels.

Maybe I'm confused about theo, but I thought theo was based on coin in? (bet x number of hands per hour x hours played x house edge). How would they come up with a number for theo if it isn't based on amount gambled?

No way near your level BUT just got offers for March as well at the home designated casino......have been playing fairly regularly at Boyd properties just not necessarily Orleans. LOW roller But did NOT get an invite to THE GAME which is really no more than a free drink / free food activity by Boyd. No big deal as I can drink / eat cheaper at the PAY event as opposed to free. How much can you eat or drink vs. gambling out of your comfort zone.

Not sure about you and the Mrs. though as it would seem you would be the type customer coveted by the casino. What surprises me is how SHORT the window is for evaluating play for future offers. But I am a rookie so we shall see.

It is posts like this that make understanding what is going on (if it is understandable).

I really don't think you could pay me enough to stay on the Strip and play those crappy VP tables. About every 4 years or so we take a free night at CET. The last two times we came back to MSS the same day.

Not in person, but in an email reply when I asked about some up front food comps and a comped room. "Bill it to the room"

Don't worry till you have something to worry about. So far, you're only out $40. Hopefully, you will still get the other perks. Surely they know you have a "posse". They better not mess with one of our own!

Wow. Sorry to hear that MSS has downgraded their DDB. They had 9/6 DDB when I was there in August. At the bar and by the valet entrance. Just booked a 2 night comp there March Madness weekend. Looks like I'm gonna have to play less DDB at MSS and more craps, or head over to the 4 queens!

Tim, site a few examples because on bartops all I've seen is 8/5 DDB.

Weird thing happened to me. I play and stay at the D and my offers are typically 3-4 nights with $75-100 MP and $50-75 free play.
My Dec/January offers dropped to $5 MP and BOGO rooms. I have no idea why. LAST week I get my Feb-March offers and everything has returned to normal. Of course I'll be there in Jan, so this bites. I'll prob ask my host about it on arrival, but it makes me wonder if they change comps based on supply in demand. For you - march would equal March Madness. It doesn't make sense why my March offer is "good", but the point is - my offer for Jan is the anomaly a the moment.

I'm very surprised you had received a gold card and suite in the past, based on only $10k a day in play, unless you were playing a lot of slots or really poor VP. Anyone else recall seeing a trip report with someone getting a gold card, suite, and limo there. with only 10k a day of play on good VP?

To me, your offers are now in the ballpark with what others at your level of play are seeing.
