Has anyone stayed at Casino Royale?
I'm the kind of guy who is always out and about in Vegas so doesn't need a fancy room. Casino Royale looks like a good option so was looking for some feedback from anyone who has stayed there before.
    Thanks.

    HI,

I haven't stayed at Casino Royale, but if you go to oyster.com you can get an unbiased look at the hotel rooms. I like to gamble here and they have great drink specials to boot.

Riviera is another property you may want to check out. They have some awesome room prices, depending when you are going.

    Hope this helps.

There is nothing wrong with the rooms at Casino Royale. I have stayed there many times and have only found a dead hooker under the bed one time.

I keed! But I have stayed there many times, pre and post renovations. The rooms are actually very nice with fridges, coffee makers, safe etc. The location can't be beat. Some of the rooms at Casino Royale are closer to the casinos at Harrah's and Mirage then the rooms at Harrah's and some rooms at the Mirage are to their own casinos. I am not kidding either.

I am no longer a fan of the casino though. They don't have any real blackjack. They never have had any. And now they are down to one craps table. Imagine, the thing they were known for, and they screwed that up. Their craps machine does have the best conditions of any I have seen though.

The drink service has always been great though. Say hello to Elsa, Patti, and Lisa for me!

I'm totally open to staying at Casino Royale. It's my husbands favourite low roller spot on the strip. However, I'm not comped so I'm looking for value. And their prices are high compared to full casino resorts right next to it. I think you can do better for the money. Unless it's the best deal for your particular dates, then go for it. I will also say the fact that you're steps from the street to your room might be of value to you. I don't think you're going to die there.

Their prices are too high. I try Flamingo, Harrahs, Ballys for cheaper rooms.

I never stayed there but was curious to what the rates they were charging and I remember i was shocked when how much they wanted to charge for a night there.

    This!

You can probably stay at Caesars for the same price. CR is one of my favorite places to drink though, $1 beers ftw. They used to have $1 lime and strawberry margaritas too, but that over priced Fat Tuesdays out front ended that

I walked though there last time, I does not smell like puke or urine anymore, not for a while. Hope it can last.

As others have said, you could almost certainly get cheaper rooms at Flamingo or Harrahs and still be close enough to Casino Royale. I do like Casino Royale's new players club. You get $20 in freeplay for every $100 you lose, which is clearly the best out of any other rewards program.

The few times that I stuck my head into Casino Royale, I thought I would never stay there. My last time in Vegas I had no comps or good discount offers, so I bit the bullet and used my Best Western points from my work days for two free nights there. The room exceeded, far exceeded my expectations. Now when I travel I try to stay at Best Western to get points for a repeat performance.

For me, Casino Royale is the best location I could wish for and I am really considering taking a look at staying there (and Ellis Island Super 8). Might there for one night on my next trip. Central Location, free wifi, no resort fee, fridge, coffee machine. I've seen pictures of the rooms and they look nice too, so there seems to be A LOT to like.

I believe it was lose your first $20 get $20 and then $20 for every $100 afterwards. The machine kept good track of my losses for me and it popped up when available on the card reader,

Just what kind of Blackjack do they have here that isn't "real" Blackjack?

Blackjack Switch. Also Free Bet, but they are the only ones in town that only pay 6/5 for a blackjack.
Before that it was Spanish 21.
Mind you, Switch and Spanish are not terrible house advantaged games, if played correctly. I have spent hours there playing them there.
I think they might have a single or double deck blackjack game, but it's 6/5 with bad rules on top of even that abomination.
So no "real" game paying 3/2 with even an attempt at the poor rules found everywhere on the Strip these days.

If price was OK and you weren't comped elsewhere, my only reason for not staying at Casino Royale would be having a vehicle. The pedestrian traffic never seems to stop for cars heading in or out. Perhaps there's a back entrance. Anyone know?
