Inspired by Joe's post of the Rolex video, I thought it could be fun for some of us to talk about our collections and what we usually wear in Vegas.

I usually wear my TAG CARRERA to Vegas. I also have a BREITLING SUPEROCEAN, black with red trim that I will be wearing on this years SUPERBOWL trip. My other Swiss mechanical is a FORMEX DS 2000 Limited Edition.

I also have two CITIZEN ECO DRIVES which I wear on our vacations to JAMAICA. Oh, and a BULOVA HARLEY-DAVIDSON watch I received as a gift. I have had my eye on a Gold and Black Rolex, but just havent pulled the trigger as of yet......

That sounds like a well rounded collection. Do you mean a two-tone submariner like the one pictured? I have this watch in all stainless as my daily wearer, fantastic piece.

I was actually looking at the GMT MASTER, but that would work as well! I am really growing to love that watch. I had not previously thought I could pull off the gold, but I am now thinking I can.

What else do you wear COOLER?

The GMT is great too. Being in Purdue country the gold and black Rolex models are quite popular among us alums. Like I said, my daily wearer most of the time is a Submariner 16610. I've also got an Omega Speedy Pro that I wear quite a bit. I have a vintage Heuer Autavia that stays put up most of the time. I also have a vintage Omega Seamaster that I wear for formal occastions. On my list of wants are a Rolex Milgauss with the green dial and a Patek Nautilus 5711. Oh yea, and I would probably trade my entire collection for a Rolex Daytona 6263.

I have admired that exact Milgauss! That is an excellent collection you have, I am envious for sure. I have been checking out some vintage as well, just cautious about buying one online.

The Milgauss is very cool indeed. I use watchrecon.com which compiles sales from several forums. As long as you buy from someone with a solid sales history I wouldn't worry too much. Just do your due diligence.

I've always been mechanically inclined and was attracted to my first auto watch as a teen. Since then, during my travels, I've picked up some classics from Russia, China, Switzerland, France, Japan... When my wife travels she usually brings back any interesting autos she runs across. I maintain and clean them myself - a lot of the skills were simply picked up by diving in and playing with the mechanisms. Word got out and now I'm the guy who fixes and maintains watches for friends and relatives. Before I retired, I kept a set of basic tools at work and would help out co-workers with their watches at my desk.

I'm obviously an auto nut as proven by the rows of auto winders in my bedroom closet. It's soothing at night to hear them churning the watches and it keeps them ready to wear at a moment's notice. As most know, it's a PITA to have a multi-function auto that has to be reset because it's not worn enough. The auto winders solve that problem.

Very interesting. Do you have any noteworthy pieces you could share? I'm always interested in hearing about watches from somewhere other than Europe.

I do not wear watches anymore but I went through a phase a few years ago of collecting several Swiss Army Watches.
There's something about that little Red (+) Symbol that I like. They're made by 3 different companies. Victorinox, Wenger & Hanowa.
I have other watches but like I said I don't wear any of them because my iPhone is always in my pocket. For the record I have no desire to purchase an iWatch.

I get the phone argument from a lot of people. "Why do you need to wear a watch when you have a phone." For the same reason you wear any other jewelry or anything for that matter that isn't strictly utilitarian. I like it.

...and people don't seem to realize that by using their phone to check the time, they are kind of taking a step backwards in terms of progress. Wristwatches were invented so people wouldn't have to check their pocket watch, after all [emoji12]

Just have 1 now. Stainless steel Rolex Daytona with the black face. Had a tag carerra but sold it since I never wore it once I got Rolex. Bought it after an exceptionally good trip to the casino. Plan is to hand it off to my son (1.5yrs old) at some point when he's old enough to not sell it for beer money (maybe when he gets married?). We are having a girl in June so need to figure out what she gets to keep it even. :)

If you're only going to have one watch, that's a hell of a choice. If i could have any watch it would be a vintage Daytona 6263. Congrats on the girl! Might I suggest a nice piece of diamond jewelry you can give her mother when she's born, with the stipulation she passes it down on your daughter's wedding day.

I've owned numerous EcoDrives. They are great watches and one heck of a great value.
