Heynow..... and Happy New Year !

Saw this on a music site regarding the new year and made me think, as I recall the first one I bought with my own money was a Creedence album, Suzy Q was the "hit". I was thirteeen or fourteen.

Pretty sure the one I have imprinted on my brain though is Dark Side Of The Moon.......bought that on eight track.

    D'OH.....get off my lawn !

( I still have my Creedence, horrible condition)

Anybody else.......hey, it can be cassette, laser disc, eight track, or bootleg

My first CD was Boston and I didn't even own a CD player at the time.
    Still have that CD.

The first LP I bought with my own money was The Doors. I still own it, even though it is worn too thin to play anymore.

Mine was CCR's Willy and the Poor Boys ( think that is the name). Down on the Corner was the big hit on it.

I'm guessing my first LP that I bought with my own money was probably Ike and Tine Turner Revue after seeing them at the Ohio State Fair in like '68-'70 or thereabouts... I was around 10-12.

I was born in 1956 also. My first album was Herman's Hermits. Forgot the name of the album but the hit song was "Mrs. Brown (you've got a lovely daughter)".

Probably dating myself, but I had the 45 of "I Think I Love You", never would admit to it though!
    (What's a 45 Dad?)
First album I remembering buying was Janis Joplin "Pearl".
Had all my vinyl's until about a year ago when the basement flooded. Hate to think what the collection may have been worth.

    lol, another 1956'er here.

Don't ask me why, but my first album that I bought was the soundtrack to "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" lol
My second album was The 1910 Fruitgum Company.
I think I finally got on track with my third album, Led Zeppelin's first album.
I still have every album I ever bought.

I went to the music store to buy a bruce springsteen album.

I took a buddy along who was from london and alot older and wiser then i was.

he talked me into buying the Sex Pistols Never Mind the Bollocks.

I loved it and think fondly about that lp and how it changed the course of my life. just listened to it again 2 nights ago.

Took me from a sheep to a lion almost over night.
