Which is why this is very important, people. GO TO THE BATHROOM before embarking on this "ride".:evillaugh

On a positive note, he was able to enjoy the view for an additional 28 minutes at no charge...

Not accepting the ride and the meal either means embarrassment . . . Or a pending lawsuit! I'd argue emotional distress and settle for a couple grand.

    Wendy! I can fly! Oops. I can't.

I've actually been planning on trying that ride. Still am!

Walking along Fremont Street briefly the 30th of December (this was Tuesday) and we noticed some "riders" spaced above Fremont but smiling and waving. Didn't pay any more attention as we have no interest / knowledge in the ride and its intricacies. Figured the rider had a brake control of some sort for speed. Interesting article....I was always worried about someone's "throw-up" spraying the crowd below. Not getting stuck.

From the description in the article, the flyer was stuck on the upper lines. Those are darned high and it would be tougher to get someone down from them.

I saw this on the news last night and my firs thought was..."I wonder if this is a VMBer?"

I've voiced my concern about the throwing up possibility on some earlier threads. That and dropping things below like keychains and cellphones. Dangerous. But I'm pretty sure the zip people have precautions and safeguards against that happening.

Only one the zip people have no control over is the throwing up. Yuckkkk......

Yeah, while on T.V. it would be awesome if the zip rider smiled and pointed to his wristband while stuck up there (if he was indeed a VMBer with a wristband...)

Would have been a great plug for Vegas Message Board! He/She would have been a hero here!!!

From reading the article this guy had an equipment issue, but, it looks like half the people don't make it to the end of the high line. You often see the employees go out and retrieve riders.

I rode the Slotzilla last year. They have a canvas bag (think of the ones you get from a bank) that you put your keys, phone and other "Fallout-ables" into while you're riding the line. It clips on to your safety harness and the crew member at the end of the ride takes it back off and you get your things back.

Ya could use the canvas bag as a zip line sickness bag too, I suppose. Kinda like a feed bag for horses...just hook it over your ears and barf as you slide towards the end!

I know when we were there before Thanksgiving, we watched as a zipline worker pulled in a woman who stopped just short of the end. She was stuck right in front of the ABC store. I just figured she was to light to make it to the end. She looked to be all of a buck-five!

haha - its a win/win! The thrower-upper is able to cleanly evacuate their alcohol and they save the poor souls enjoying downtown below!
