    My Trip Report

Annual Christmas trip with the GF's family. I'm mostly a dice player but have been dabbling in blackjack and VP recently. I'm going to try sticking with just the pass line this trip. After years of chasing with place bets or come bets across, I'm interested to see if I still enjoy the game one a single bet. I'm prepared to watch a monster withy thumbs up my ass. I plan on early AM VP unless the dice table is full.

We just checked in after driving in from Southern California. We dropped our pups off at the boarding place in north LV and stopped for some Poke Express. Limu and spicy ahi, just like on Hawaii. We also got a bento lunch at the sister restaurant a few doors down in the same shopping center. Garlic chicken on point.

Tonight we are eating at Raku, an izakaya, on Spring Mountain. Until then it's dice time.

Great first dice session. Started at $5/$10 PL/odds. Up a few chips after 30 mins and the table clears for some strange reason. I've got a table for one and apparently points passes were on the menu. I decided to go 5x odds and went on to hit 4 or 5 passes. I got up to a $10 flat with $130 odds and finally sevend. I tried another hand and PSO. I colored up $160 and toked the 2 reds.

I found the legendary Jose at the Boars Head and sipped some scotch as the machine sipped my quarters.

Head over to the cal and dropped another hundo on dice. Same betting strategy but no points rolling. Guy next to me going $100 outside every roller and pressing hard. He didn't fare so well either.

    Getting ready for dinner.

When I've bee at $5 craps tables I will place the opposite number from the point and if the place hits I press up my odds bet. I've gotten my odds up to about 5 times a couple of times but no big runs yet where I make like a bandit. The local place has 100x odds.

I've played all kinda ways. I've also lost all kinda ways. For this trip, I'm trying to put all my money on one number and seeing if I still enjoy the action. Working my quarter odds to $130 was pretty exciting.

Raku was great. Wagyu sukiyaki, uni with poached egg, pork cheek skewer, house made tofu were all winners.

We went to Raku Sweet a few doors down. They do a three course dessert. Pear tart preparation is the video linked below. We also got chocolate soufflé. Never been to a place where you can watch pastry chefs do work.

Back at the Cal to watch the Dubs lose to the Lakers.

Played about an hour of dice and ended up a quarter. Most excitement came in the first couple hands. Started with $20 odds and worked it up to $100. It's dumb but I'm using a Fibonacci progression. 1unit 1 2 3 5. From here, I collect then next hit go to 10.

After a couple rounds of choppy shooting I change to a pass plus one come but chop the odds to $10 each. Chop continues and decide to end with a blackjack nightcap.

Bad idea. I flat bet quarters and get ground down. I leave with a few chips and head up for a shower. All told only down $250 is pretty good for me. I probably got about 4-5 hours of action today.

Up and at em in a few hours. I got that vegas problem of only sleeping til 5am. I'm thinking about cruising Fremont for a dice table with some players. If that isn't happening then some VP.

Walking Fremont at 6am is like being a ghost. But with panhandlers. Dunkin Donuts for some coffee then walked to all the props. No dice action except at the Nugget. Down $50 after 30 minutes. Table cleared so I bailed. It's a x345 game so I went $5 with max odds. Got it up to $15 flat but luckily shooter 7d on a point of 10 so only had $45 in odds.

I started betting the sister hardway on any even point. Hit it several times but I'm a parley junkie. Never hit the second time though.

Completing the lap with GG and Plaza.

Both joints dead. Plaza smells like they trying to cover up the smell of death. Back to home base for vp.

I always buy the 4 for $25 and put $25 on the hard 4. Seems to hit often for me. Good luck!

I give Curt the Plaza host who posts on this board and identifies himself as a Plaza Host lots of credit, but he keeps denying they pump a fragrance into the place. I have to disagree. After a hour, I have to leave. I just can't stand the smell.

I'll have to give the Plaza a full analysis, I remember playing craps there for a couple hours last year and don't remember this scent. But my olfactory senses could have been "numbed" by one or two drinks.

I wish I had the stamina to just play and progress PL, but I get too itchy. I usually do a PL and 2 comes and have had good AND BAD runs that way.

I noticed eau d'death right as the air hit me walking in the door.

It's surprisingly exciting waiting for a single bet with a $100 odds. It's gotten close to that level several times.

Dropped $75 at Main Street dice. Got another bet up to $60 odds starting with $20. Couldn't get over the hump.

Edit: I think the upside stacking all my dough on a single bet is that I get to higher bet levels quicker. If I went with 2 numbers but divided the same starting cash, the numbers would have to roll twice as many times as just betting one number.

No way of getting around the fact it's all a negative expectation game. I've been able to stay the course (mostly) despite watching lots of non point numbers rolling. I slipped last night by playing 2 numbers and dropping odds by half.

Anywho, checking out the Downtown Grand for a bit. Then heading out to dimsum and David's Hong Kong on Decatuer.

Employing the rules of strict parley, I'm up $250 on BP VP. Started at quarters hit this:

Bumped it up to 50 cents then hit this:

Bumped it dollar then hit a quad 5s! Incredible run in about 15 minutes.

A quick $40 win at DTG dice. It was $5 game with 10x odds. Got another bet up $60. Had 2 hands hitting 3 points.

    Off to dimsum.
