Best Oyster Bar

If there are other oyster aficionados on the board what is your recommendation of the best oyster bar to go to in Vegas? I'm on the east coast so the majority of our oyster bars server the eastern oysters (blue points, malpeques, ace blades, etc). When I'm in Vegas in March would love to find an oyster bar that has the kumamotos, olympias, and pacific oysters since i hardly ever get those kind. Any guidance is much appreciated.

 

The Oyster Bar at Palace Station is great if you don't mind the wait.

 

Great joint. They have some other items on the menu there that are excellent as well.

I don't eat oysters unless fried (thus far) and was wondering if anyone had enjoyed the oven-baked variety ? It seemed strange to me as all I had ever encountered were raw and fried.....reportedly the oven baked are good (although I suppose it depends on the marinade etc)......

Tentative plans to try it this trip. With abundant amounts of alcohol that is....

I volunteered at an oyster festival, they were making a grilled half shell oyster with a butter garlic sauce topped with Parmesan cheese that was awesome. I think the original recipe came from the Acme Oyster bar in New Orleans. They say it was a brave man who ate the first raw oyster, I didn't have my first one 'till 5 years ago, and I am making up for lost time.

I would also check out Emerils Fish House at MGM, they have a Happy Hour with oyster specials. The west coast oysters tend to be a little smaller than those harvested in Virginia or New England.

 

Oyster Bar at Harrah's has cooked oysters as well as many other oyster bars.......Oyster Rockefeller is just one fine example of a oven baked oyster......there are many other ways to bake them as well......but if you ever get to the Oyster Bar in Harrah's try the grilled oysters with a light butter garlic sauce and Parmesan cheese....FANTASTIC

 

Could not agree more. Love Love Love Harrah's oyster bar.

 

It's one of the reasons we now stay at Harrah's.........plan to be parked at the Oyster Bar come Easter week.....CAN'T WAIT ! ! !

 

Another vote for Harrah's Oyster Bar. We'll be sitting their tomorrow evening! I highly recommend the seafood platter. I have also had good experiences at the Todd English Pub in the Shops at Crystals (Aria) - they have a nice raw bar and a ton of great craft beer and wine selections. It's a great place to grab a quick dozen raw oysters and a beer.

 

Oysters Rockerfeller are usually outstanding. New Orleans specialty .
