Scott Roeben ("Drunk Scott" to Five Hundy By Midnight podcast listeners) runs the Vital Vegas blog, when not (or maybe while) serving as publicist for the Fremont Street Experience.

He certainly did Fremont Street proud with these stunning photos of Downtown Las Vegas after a rainstorm.

Day or night, wet or dry, Downtown has never looked better, IMHO.

Gotta love this line about Binion's CWs:
"...and where you can find cocktail waitresses who got their first waitressing jobs during the American Civil War." :haha:

I mistakenly thought the canopy provided some rain protection... just FYI... it doesn't.

:)Maybe they should install spriklers under the canopy and turn them on for ten minutes or so, every evening? Nice affect. :>)

I remember my 3rd trip just over 2 years ago and stayed Downtown, one night it rained and it was the first time I had seen rain in Vegas and I also found out that the canopy is not rain proof, I sheltered in 4 Queens till it eased off and it was funny watching people running around trying to take shelter. I watched a group of women who were running in bare feet and one of them just slid on the slippery floor and went right on her arse into a large puddle.

Scott Roeben (Vital Vegas) takes some of the best photos of Vegas I have ever seen.

Some fantastic pics in that link, and the gossipy-style history notes were great, too. :)
