I got to my room at the Cosmo about 30 min ago and thought I heard fireworks. Would be kinda strange for 1:30 am. I would say I heard about 7 shots. Police have the strip closed in front of Paris and tons of cop cars anyone know what's going on?
I've been watching this from PH. Really curious as to what is going on... we also heard the shots and from our room it's easy to see that not only have the lanes in the strip been closed, the side walks are also masked off with crime tape. Looks like it's right in front of the sugar factory.

According to the sun, a security officer hired by the rtc asked a guy to get off a bus, the guy shot the officer and the officer returned fire killing the suspect
It could be that the bus stopped and waited for security to come on board to the bus to get the passenger off. That's a scary situation though. Who knows why the guy was being asked to leave the bus, but if somebody on the bus confronted him, it could have been a bad situation. One of the times i was on the deuce, a woman was kicked off the bus, and the bus driver pulled over and waited for security to arrive by car.
The shooting at Rio was a serial robber that the cops were after, he'd been robbing casino's all over town. They were on his tail and confronted him in Rio, things went south and they shot him
Security officers patrol a total of 345 RTC buses on 39 routes, Castro said. At any given point, there should be approximately 12 officers on shift throughout the day. The route along the Strip is patrolled 24 hours a day. More details from the Review Journal: http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/las-vegas/man-killed-strip-shootout-identified-coroner
I don't think there's been an uptick in shootings in LV. The strip has seen it's fair share of shootings and motor vehicle fatalities in the recent past. Nick
