I had a good friend of mine always called it that for whatever reason. He is a good ole country boy and I think he uses either ole' granddad or the dad as the best place in town..... Its just what we started calling it in our circle.

I always call Planet Hollywood, PHo or Planet Ho since I was there in April 2007 when they were changing the letters at the top of the hotel. For a day or two, it said Planet Ho until they could put up the rest of the letters. And with the angle of the building, at the right spot, it could be read as PHo.

I like to call places by the names they had when I first saw them.

Downtown Grand is the Lady Luck, the D is the Fitz, SLS is the Sahara etc

I call the Riviera, "My Sweet Baby Riv". It's because I used to get $29 rooms there when I was in college, and I'd somehow talk my way into the Monaco Tower. We'd put like four guys in there, paying about $8 a night each (this was pre-resort fees). Plus, I always liked the 50's vibe (having mediocre lounge singers while 17 provincial convention attendees all tried to hit on that one reasonably attractive woman out on the dance floor). It just seemed so quaint, especially as Vegas rushes to be more and more post-modern and trendsetting. Even now, I'll sometimes wander upstrip and hang out there, then eat a late night meal at the nearby Peppermill before heading back to whichever CET property comped me that particular trip. I still have a soft spot for that joint.

Exactly! When I went looking for that particular one (with Bugs saying "mir-rah-gee"), I ended up getting sidetracked with about 5 or 6 others...those were the cartoons that would genuinely make you laugh... and they still do...case in point - Yosemite Sam: "When I say whoa, I mean WHOA!!!
