I've got a Secret Santa assignment and shipping bourbon to canadia is exceedingly difficult

and Amazon.ca is sold out of Blanton's, any of you east coast Canadians know of a local store up there that can sell and ship a bottle for me?

    thanks in advance

They would purchase it at the LCBO and then deliver it. Those services are typically used by people too drunk to drive but in need of "more".

I have an actual gift-box bottle at my feet . but shipping a brick of C4 might be easier, and I'd rather an actual bottle showed up today vs. a GC that he has to redeem himself....the rest of my gag gifts can wait, but today is the "due date" for the gift exchange

Dang you were right, LCBO GC was the call!
those booze delivery services are flaky as hell, really tried to get him something today
then the gag gifts to bust his chops later

you know Canada is weird to a guy from CA, I always thought Texas was bad with almost more "dry" counties than the entire rest of the USA
and no beer sales on Sunday in "wet" counties, but Canada is teaching me new things about how silly, Silly can get

Try living in Pennsylvania, the state controls wholesale and retail wine and spirits. We just got Sunday sales a few years ago. If you want to buy beer, go to a beer distributor and buy a case. If you want a six pack, you have to go to a deli, six pack store and only recently, a few supermarkets. You can only buy two six packs per transaction. And they just started selling beer on Sunday.

On my last trip to Ontario, I was told at the duty free shop that I can bring in one 40 oz. bottle of spirits for my own consumption without duty. If I declare it a gift, I have to pay duty. A couple years ago I brought in two liters of whiskey as gifts and declared it, not wanting a "Midnight Express" scene and wreck my trip. Being a Boy Scout cost me $50 in duty and taxes.

MANY years ago while deer hunting PA we had to go to someone's garage to buy a case of beer but could get a six pack over the bar in any tavern. I was only 19 back then and PA had a 21 min for drinking unlike NYS 18 year old requirement. My hunting partner had to purchase the beer where I drank it illegally at deer camp.....oh boy, hope the PA liquor police don't track me down now.

Many years ago after the wedding reception for a cousin, everyone went back to someone's house because at the open bar, we obviously didn't drink enough. Had to get some Schmidts beer and the only place that had it was a bar that sold "package goods", I will never forget, the bartender as nervous as could be, bagging up about three cases of beer, a six pack at a time. Probably was some Ortleib's in there as well. We were permitted to each take two six packs out at a time, then return back to the bar for two more, and so on.
