If you've eaten Burgoo or eaten specifically at the Moonlite Bar-B-Que in Owensboro.

    I'm a curious Californian who's thinking or mail-ordering some.

    Any insights appreciated.

Also, any place in LV that serves Burgoo?

I have business in Lexington a couple times a year and have enjoyed burgoo there in addition to a hot brown (open faced turkey and bacon sandwich covered in a cheese sauce) another Kentucky favorite. The burgoo was part of a buffet offering both times and not something I specifically ordered. It's good though!!! As is most of the food I've eaten over the years in Kentucky!!!

Sorry though... I'm unaware of anywhere in Vegas that might specialize or offer burgoo.

Update, received the package in 2 days. Put the chopped mutton in the freezer. Opened a jar of the "Burgoo soup" and had a serving of it today.

Very similar to Brunswick Stew with a slightly different taste, since it's made with mutton. Very tasty. Not overly spicy, but just enough to let you know that it's "from the woods".

I will probably have the chopped mutton later this week.

Finally sat down to eat the mutton. Ate it "straight". Needs something to cut the saltiness. I'll try it with white rice. Still very good.
