Anyone ever stay here? I'd be interested in what you think. My family back east is thinking of a May trip and this is the place they have picked based on a friends recommendation (who I believe has a time share there). It's right near the Linq so it's close to the strip. The first negative I could think of is timeshare people bugging you but I get that at some of the strip resorts and giving them "the look" always works.

I'd appreciate hearing any of the great, the good , the bad and the ugly.

Not sure about the "family" - first trip to Vegas or long time visitors?

Personally, I would have a hard time suggesting anything "off the strip". Others are okay with it.

Looks like this place is on Koval - so that is walkable.

thanks NSH for the reply... my sisters families consist of a mixture of Vegas veterans and first timers. Since this will be for a week they wanted something that was more of an apartment and less of a hotel... the reviews are mostly good, a few negatives in there but every place has it's bad reviews... if it was just me I'd not even consider not staying on the strip but since they are doing the traveling (it's just a short drive for me) I'm letting them make the call. I go to Vegas about 3x per year so the next trip is always just a few months away....

    So has anyone stayed here?

This probably won't help but.... I almost stayed there this past weekend. Had a free night, but it was too expensive for the other nights I was going to be in town, so I stayed at the Orleans.

That said, I've stayed in several different timeshare resorts in vegas similar to this one and I think they are great. Plenty of space, and it is really nice to have a kitchen, especially if you are going for more than a few days and don't want to eat out all of the time. Plus it is a short walk to Ellis Island. Also, I think most non-casino resorts are non-smoking now, which is a nice break from the poor air quality in the casinos.

    Two suggestions:
    1. From the pictures, I couldn't tell if the resort had an elevator. If you have lots of luggage, you may want to ask for a room on the ground floor.
    2. I strongly recommend renting a car, as these places are pretty isolated. Thrifty/Dollar is cheap on their website (but there are a lot of fees tacked on). It is especially useful if you plan to cook and want to run to the store. Also, Koval Lane is very busy and I think may not have sidewalks everywhere. Since it is off the strip, you may also be able to get an Uber ride from there.

thanks for the reply lefty... reading a few reviews have confirmed that there are no elevators, that shouldn't be a problem with anyone in my family but I gave them the heads up just in case. I'll be driving so I'll have a car available but it looks like things are pretty close. I usually stay on the south end of the strip so it'll be nice to spend some time mid-strip. Being in a non-casino resort definitely fits this trip (I'm easily distracted by the sounds of a casino!). It'll be nice to hit a few places I have never been to (Ellis Island) and to spend time at places I have only briefly visited before (Mirage, Harrah's, Flamingo).

Also, if you are paying for a room and not getting it free as a promotion, you usually won't be required to sit through a timeshare presentation. THey may be persuasive to try to get you into one, but a simple and consistent "No, thank you" should keep you out of it. Sometimes they offer tickets or dinner, etc, but caveat emptor. They are usually shows available for a discount on goldstar or the 1/2 price booth and restaurants with coupons at Restaurant.com. I have never seen them offer anything like Cirque du Soleil, etc.

Also, there is a decent inexpensive coffee shop nearby at the Tuscany Suites casino on Flamingo (also a very nice place to stay). i think there is a coupon in the new American Casino Guide.

    Enjoy

I stayed there a couple years ago....I thought the units were very dark & dumpier than any other timeshares I've stayed at in Las Vegas (HGVC, Grand Desert, Grandview)..the washer & dryer were out on the patio and the washer didn't work...I wasn't impressed and won't stay there again..It's supposed to be nicer than the previous location (before Harrah's bought them out & moved them to a former apartment complex so they could use he land for the Linq) so that must have been a REAL dump.

I traded in and wasn't bothered by the salespeople..
