I have been to vegas several times but not in since 2011. we are going in January and are staying at the plaza. We have a rental car. we are there for 5 days, plan on 1 day downtown, 1 day on the strip, 1 day off strip and the other 2 days for anything we didn't have time for. We gamble some but not a ton, love to sight see and people watch. what is new to do, see and eat. we would be up for anything fun or unique.

Well, the newest big thing is the Big Wheel. Lines were short when we did it.

New and improved Neon Boneyard Museum is pretty cool, especially the night-time tours. Best to buy your tickets ahead of time...

Well, since you'll be at the Plaza you'll literally be a 5-minute walk from the new D, Grand, Pizza Rock and refurbished El Cortez (O.K., maybe a 10 minute walk to El Cortez). Check out Container Park (that Mantis!) and all the new Fremont Street East stuff as well as Slotzilla.
