I've been playing EZ Pai Gow Poker at Caesars Windsor a lot lately and I really like it. It seems a lot "cleaner" without having to deal with paying commission.

This is the version where there is no commission and it is an automatic push when the dealer gets a Queen high pai gow hand.

There is another version where it is a push when the dealer's low hand is a 9 high.

Is the EZ version anywhere on the Strip? I think I've seen it at the Venetian, but I don't like playing there...

Does this have the side bet as well Qh or 50-1?

I wonder what the house edge is in this compared to pai gow. You keep 5% on all winning bets but do not win on a hand you most likely would have won...

It's 2.47%. Never banking in original Pai Gow Poker is 2.51% optimally. Optimal strategy is not quantified, but the house ways only add about 0.2% to each game. EZ Pai Gow is a fine alternative if you never bank in the game.

At Caesars Windsor there are THREE side bets.

Queen high - pays 50:1 when dealer gets queen high.

Dynasty Bonus - similar to the Fortune side bet. Good hands get paid. Highest is 2500:1 for a 7 card straight flush.

Protection side bet - crappy pai gow hands get paid. 9 high gets 100:1.

Golden nugget has the nine high low hand version. I played an hour and a half and never saw a push hand, so good deal for me!

Thanks, I looked it up and I found it, but in my mind it did not make much sense... You cannot bank in NWI anyway and I usually do not have that bankroll to bank, unless people pull bets back.

You can't bank in traditional Pai Gow there? EZ Pai Gow, yeah, I don't think many places allow you to bank with that game. I just meant it was a good alternative game for players who never bank in the traditional game.

Maybe at Horseshoe I never played there limits are usually too high, but the dealer at Ameristar said they do not allow banking and he seems to seem most places do not allow it. I never was offered at Majestic Star. Blue chip does not have it.

I actually like Ameristar's Asian gaming room, they comp cigars for players, no matter bet. They have Baccarat at $5 most times Even though I always get crushed, I am a poor guesser I guess and the Pai Gow is played at the lower Baccarat style tables. They have one regular and one no commission.

Anyone with Baccarat tips, chime in, lol chime in!

I believe all of the Station Casinos have the EZ Pai Gow game with the Queen-high PaiGow pushes version. I play it at Boulder Station but only as a last resort. I like the standard PaiGow tables better (and the progressive bonus is usually a lot higher on the standard tables). One of the things I hate with EZ Pai Gow is the meter for the progressive bet. So much so that I used to also play paiGow at Eastside Cannery but skip them now for that reason (plus the pit bosses there not being all that friendly).

One of the dealers at Boulder told me that the EZ Pai Gow game was invented by a couple guys at one of the Station Casinos (Sunset Station, I think) and that's why it got into the Station Casinos locations a few years ago. I keep walking into Boulder Station every 3 months when I go to Vegas and expect to find the table gone...I don't think it's as popular with their other paiGow customers as the standard tables either..

    I don't recall the dealer getting a Queen-High when I've been playing, so I suppose it's a decent trade-off.

Treasure Island has the push when the dealers's low hand is a 9 high version.

Played it there last night. I greatly prefer these commission free versions.
