How long does it take your host to book your reservations (CET)?

My trip is not until late December but I'm still waiting for reservations from my new host as my previous one has left CET. It's been about a week. She apologized for the delay and said "CCS" is backed up with reservations for this month. I don't think I'm being jerked around and maybe the delay is because I'm there over NYE but just wondering if others have this experience. I couldn't on my own book 9 comped days straight at Caesars, which is what she is going to do, but at this rate I feel like I could have booked 4-5 nights on one offer, 2 at Cosmo and then 2 more at Caesars under a different offer and have been done with it (though not guaranteed an Augustus strip view room, which is important to me).

Curious as to other experiences. I am in hyper-trip-planning mode and really want things all set soon!

No. I'll send you a PM. The new host seems nice and don't want to get her/him in trouble. I don't view myself as high maintenance at all but this seems strange. I'm a mid-tier 7*. Maybe the new host is overwhelmed with new clients from the old host, who I think left with little notice.

I had terrible response timing from a host at CP, and ended up not contacting her anymore, lately I've been using Hunter for my trips and he has been fantastic!

My host usually responds same day. At mid 7* you should have a cell number for your host. Mine responds almost 24/7 on text. When my host requests the reservation, it always comes through ion an email to me 2-3 days later from the hotel.

I'm getting worried. Ugh. I have her cell but figured I'd just email. She responds to emails quickly but lately with not much info. I'll give it another couple of days and if nothing substantive I may email Hunter.

Once I book my flights, I send my host the details. I know that a host doesn't directly make a reservation. Sometimes I get a confirm in a couple of days. Sometimes it might be a couple if weeks. I've been with the same host for over 4 years, so I don't sweat it. I know that the limo will be waiting at McCarren and my room or suite set up and available when I get to Diamond check in.

If your host has acknowledged your request, I wouldn't be too concerned. I understand that you're anxious.....I'm a control freak, so I get it. My host may be swamped with reservations for the upcoming weekend, so a reservation for a month out or further, may not get done as quickly.

That's my sense newmans. I had a good conversation with her initially and had a good feeling about her so I'll try not to stress about it. But I am a freak when it comes to Vegas trip planning. ALL of my restaurant reservations have been made, my "calendar" is all set (pink font for spa treatments, purple for food, orange for shows/museums, green for gambling time, etc. you get the idea LOL), so yeah, I kind of want that hotel confirmation, especially since I also want to redeem some 7* experience credits to use during the trip. LOL. :) But, I'll chill for a few days. At least my airfare has been booked. My prior host did it about a month ago before he left.

LOL.....you're my kinda traveller. I make restaurant reservations 4-6 weeks before I get to Vegas and hair appointments at least a month in advance.
Now airfare for a diamond or 7 stars trip is another story. Passport has been better lately, but your host has to rely on Passport to book the flights. I send specific details, a screen shot of the flights that I want, seat request, frequent flier #s etc and then nervously wait for Passport.

Re trip planning, I am glad I am not alone. ;) I did pretty much as you described for my flights and my prior host had passport book in just a couple of days. Thank goodness as fares have gone up and I was approaching $1250.

Is it JT? I got such bad service from the person that I actually moved most of my gaming to other properties a few years ago but with Hunter, I'm back... I know he'll take care of things for me so I don't worry about the time. If I get worried, I just call in but that hasn't happened since I met Hunter.

I'm high 7*. My host still sucks ass. He is the worst POS host I've ever dealt with at any property in any of the major casino groups. CP sucks, their hosts suck, their "suites" suck, most of their dining options suck, their rewards program truly sucks. And yeah they are deservedly headed to bankruptcy. But Loveman was paid over 7 million last year to steer this ship into the ground. But hey, he's from Harvard.

Oh, but to answer your original query, my last two trips he planned were both screwed up. The first one he never booked or took any action on until about a week before it was to occur when I realized my frequent flier account didn't contain the air reservation. he had the hotel eat the extra airfare but i'm sure he found a way to make it come off my play in the end rather than own up to his mistake. The last time he screwed up the reservation, dates, and annual dinner. You know, routine stuff.

Caesars has actually dropped markers twice when they shouldn't have. The first time was before my time period to pay had expired (which they emphatically promised me they would never let it happen again after I voiced my displeasure to my host face to face) and the second one they had already received payment but didn't realize it, about a month or two after the first incident. In the casino world, this is unimaginable. Neither time did anyone, including this POS host or anyone in credit, bookkeeping, housekeeping, etc, even bother to pick up the phone and make a single call to me. What a joke. Again, I wish them well with their reorganization; sarcasm intended.

Tellafriend, That really sucks. Do you play as well at MGM properties or Wynncore? I generally have good experiences with CET (mostly staying there as opposed to host experiences as before I became 7* I booked my rooms/offer online) but will be splitting my play in 2015; mostly CET but with a little Cosmo and Bellagio thrown in and maybe a bit of Wynn. I don't want to spread around too much but I don't seem to need to play much to continue to get two comped nights to Cosmo, which is fine.

If you do play at MGM properties or elsewhere, am curious if your experiences are better there.

Haha, I do sort of the same thing, I make a spreadsheet on Google drive and share it with my gf. It's mostly for brainstorming and tossing out ideas but it's also so we don't forget anything or try to over book. We keep everything fast and loose except when there is an event that can't be moved.

I'm not cet but my next trip is my first to be booked via a host. I had everything confirmed within 24 hours. I'm easy to please, I don't need anything too fancy, just comps relative to my play level.

Yes, I primarily play at MGM properties. Years ago for some reason I don't even recall I gave some drop in play to TI that for their standards was big. So a host there found a way to lure me back in each trip with promos for drop in play. I can work with that. She then moved to CP. She offered the same deal and I moved my drop in play with her. she would add whatever gift card offers were going on and give them to me as well. Real nice, attractive girl who I thought a lot of. Then all of a sudden I got news through a mutual friend/host, that she had hung herself. Really out of place but what do I know. The only thing I ever heard was that she was depressed and dating some duche bag from another state who was married and oh yeah, not treating her well; but I really don't know. So anyway, I am somehow re-assigned to this current asshole. And that's the wrong description, he's really not an ass, he's just inept, lazy, unconcerned and again, inept. Oh, and now he's in some semi-supervisory position (laughter). So, I'm sure some of you fine readers are wondering why then would a gambler stay with someone with such a terrible bedside manner? Good question. Mostly because I have had significant losses at CET and the ONE and ONLY thing he has done for me which I will give him credit for, is that he has gotten me loss discounts that are far and above what anyone else would or has been able to do at either this or any other group of properties. So I just stayed the course. For a while; but earlier this year I decided I've had enough and have been low rolling them for what I can get and just haven't thought it worth the effort to change.

For the time being i'm going to consolidate my play at Bellagio and Aria I think. Though my last trip to the B was riddled with problems. The customer service there has gone downhill a great deal from what I remember. I really like Aria, but they expect a lot and don't seem to appreciate the in between. I am interested in Resorts World's new property b/c they own the new property being built in Nassau and a new one on Bimini. I like blue water and it would be nice to get some free beach trips out of my play in Vegas whereas now I get more offers to Vegas....

I've banged around the Strip a while now, giving action to a lot of places chasing comps through the boom, sometimes they reached incredible levels like $5,000 in promos plus $10,000 in shopping at Crystals, no kidding, but in retrospect I would have been better off keeping my play in one or two places.

Flowers -- I'm right there with you on the planning and wanting control over every bit of it, but now I'm forced to use a host as a 7 Star player. It's frustrating to have to hand over that control. I went back to my old host at Caesars from when I was 7 Stars before, so we already have a relationship. He did tell me that he sends all of the requests in and it can sometimes take a couple/few weeks for everything to get processed.

I decided to add a trip this past weekend a couple weeks ago and a couple days before my reservation still wasn't in the system. I emailed him and told him I was a bit panicked and he did whatever he had to to get them to rush it and everything was fine. So, you might want to contact her again and tell her you still haven't received confirmation and you're getting worried. Maybe she can push it through.

The official time commitment from CCS (the coordinator team that books our reservation requests) is up to 72 hours. We put *7 in the subject line first when it is a seven star, so they get taken care of first. CCS is swamped right now, they do their best, but things can get snagged up. Some of the most common reasons for a delay are:

    1. Major events
    2. Offer or particular of the reservation requiring leadership approval
    3. Busy weekend and we are just swamped
    4. Your reservation is more than a month or two out, so we prioritize and put in reservation request when we can, but take care of the time sensitive ones first.

Regardless, your host should just shoot you an email if they anticipate a delay. A week is probably a just forgot situation. I think a lot of that is due to our perspective that since we have more access to rooms and suites than retail has, there really is no chance that you will lose the room if the reservation is booked in a day or a week. When I have customers make it known they want the confirmation soon so they can get that warm and fuzzy, I'll usually sweet talk the coordinators into letting me call in the reservation. I treat them pretty well so I get things like that.

If I had to guess, I would treat that as an isolated situation. It happens to all of us. We get over a hundred incoming communications a day and it can be pretty overwhelming at times.(email, text, phone calls) On top of that we have to balance that with floor time, servicing guests on property (that takes top priority), and doing all the busy work like sitting at the host desk or doing customer greets. Not an excuse by any means, but I would say at least once a month I let one slip through the cracks and it takes another day or two longer than it should. Most people don't really care, but there are others whose plans truly hinge on getting all the details worked out early, so just make sure you communicate that clearly.

I actually goofed up pretty bad with a new player I brought in a couple weeks ago, had everything set up except one very important detail. We talked and we realized that it was a combination of two things. First, I didn't understand the importance of it. He communicated that, but I just breezed through the email and missed that key detail. Secondly, I let my personal productivity method slack a bit and just missed it in the scramble of October craziness. All I can really do at that point is to apologize and do everything I can to make it right, which I was able to do and the trip worked out quite well for everyone. Heck even Tom Brady has a bad game every now and then, lol.

    Hope my perspective helps :)

    Hunter
