I much prefer non AYCE, but I do like Goyemon and Sushi Mon. JJANGA has earned a great reputation. I've been twice, but I have not eaten the sushi. Friends like Yama, but I have no personal experience.

Makino is also pretty good, although their cooked food is better than their sushi.

You know, sushi is just not one of those things where you want to go in for "kinda good" or "OK, I guess," when you think about it. lol I mean, a burger and fries? That's one thing.

We're eating at Shizen at the JW Marriott next week. I can report back after that since I haven't eaten there in four years and three months -- not that I'm counting -- so have no basis to really say anything. And we used to eat sushi all across town, but, again, I can't offer anything timely and that's what food reviews really need to be.

Oh man.. so true! I went to a place across from Stanford University a few years back and I kept asking the lady... All You Can Eat? She said "yeah, yeah... all you can eat... yeah, yeah". When I got the bill, it was by the piece and/or roll and I realized her version of AYCE was different from mine. She was happy to keep bringing it, but not for one price!

The M has a deal or $24.95 that includes one saki. The selection and quality is good. For this type of deal we prefer SouthPoint Zenshin. It is not AYCE, but the happy hour deal (starts at 2pm and goes to either 5 or 6, everyday) is excellent with a wide variety of selections plus drink specials. You can always supplement with the regular menu, but we can be very full and satisfied with the HH selection.

    "Language barrier". Oops.

I've found sushi to be relatively inexpensive. I have never eaten so much I was disappointed in the bill.
That being said, I think the only place I've had sushi in Las Vegas was at Red Sushi in Golden Nugget. It was worth a return visit on our next trip.
