    My Trip Report

Just back from Vegas, and starting to write up the trip report! Believe it or not, the trip out was uneventful. Everything was more or less on time, the luggage was there, the limo was there, etc. etc. etc.

We did two video poker tournament stints in one day at the Cal and I placed in the money, which was really cool. This is how:

We started off at the Cal again, playing there, and at Main Street.

The Quad Queen and I had bunches of quads, plus the tournament, so we both finished day one up, a nice change from last trip.

Here's the index page for the trip:

There are changes going on at the Cal. While we were there, they blocked off the cage and closed the Pasta Pirate. They opened a temporary cage upstairs, and also a small one on the lower level of the main floor.

They are putting in a new Asian themed noodle inspired restaurant on the main floor. They even hired a new executive chef for that. I heard they are going to put in a very long bar along one wall as well, not sure about that. Are they going for an older (aka sub 80s) crowd?

There are some new menu items around too, particularly at the 777 and there's a new BBQ night at the Main Street buffet. We had it and it was 'okay'. Except the pork ribs in green sauce... holy crap they were good. The beef... not so much. Rollin' Smoke's beef ribs were just miles ahead.

You're off and running. With the loses from last trip, you should be ok to get your withholdings back.

I can cope with no more Pasta Pirate as long as the Redwood remains forever.

    Can't find the sheet but I think 3rd was $2000, 2nd was $2500 and 1st was a cool $5000.

Did one hand cost me $3500?.... maybe I would have gotten Aces kicker on that one hand and won it all. What I don't sacrifice for the entertainment of my internet pals!

Aweseome news!! There has not been any really noteworthy TR's lately. Can't wait to read and your commentary on Pasta Pirate closing.

Just finished up reading the first two entries. Congrats on the win!

Off to a running start RF; congrats on the tournament win! I think I'll be able to forgive you for going to bed at 7 pm in Vegas as I'm sure what's coming will atone for that sin!

Flusher, just as I'm trying to Vegas detox, you had to put out another TR! Looking forward to it, and love reading an installment every morning at work!

Someday I hope to come into the 4Qs and find a famous Royal Flusher business card... someday!

Day 2 part 1 is up.

I was inspired by one of our VMB members, who had taken a lot of great pictures, to get a new camera. He had a Canon G15. Jimmy Poon found me something better, and a lot cheaper.

    cameron.jpg

I have yet to figure the damn thing out.

We got up really early, like 4:40am, and headed down. Didn't do well, and did even worse at Fremont. (I am still grateful to a member who pointed out that Super Times Pay actually adds a bit of EV to the game, and that the Fremont had some good games.)

However, the Fremont ate about $400 of my dollars. WTF????

Awesome! Many were the days when we wanted to partake of their fabulous cuisine, but alas, the doors were closed. This is somewhat good news, I'll miss the Pirate.

Anyway, congratulations on your Royal and tournament win! Loved your first two installments!
