I think she's gone too far with it. It's too big. Especially since she's so short and tiny. I think she's had help from her plastic surgeon. She's lost perspective because of the world she's in. It's actually sad because that's all she's got.

 

That's all she's got? Now, dont get me wrong, I understand and fully condone the Kartrashian bashing, but she's done quite well for herself. She, with the help of a sex video, (don't judge based on the dirty world of porn and her promiscuity) her mother's promotion ability (a multitude of Vegas bookings at 25k-50k and up) and reality TV, has become a financial ecosystem.

Commenting that "She's lost perspective because of the world she's in" is a comment that needs to be analyzed..... The one and only reason that you can make that comment is due to the media coverage and your perception, dervived from what is put out there due to her high profile status. I would dare say that the Walton kids have the same or greater resources and subsequent lifestyle, but they aren't reality show idiots, so we don't judge, or aren't given the opportunity to judge.

"It's actually sad because that's all she's got."..... Ironically, I think we (Americans) are the ones that have lost perspective due to the world we live in.

You know it was one thing to pull this crap before she had a kid, but now that she does, maybe it's time to tone it down a bit.

You can analyze it if you want. But, I see the makings of a sad situation on the way. Money only goes so far.

She's not the first sex symbol to become a celebrity out of nowhere. I can name quite a few "famous for being famous" beautiful women without breaking into Wikipedia. Jayne Mansfield, Zsa Zsa Gabor etc. And then before that, sex symbols who were stage stars; vaudeville and burlesque. They sashayed on stage in full costume, maybe sang a bit or posed while a male singer serenaded her, did a little strip tease, maybe did a little dance, maybe played the "dumb" or "beautiful" part in a comedy act. A lot of them didn't have to sing or even say any lines, they were there to be beautiful.

Some of them did well for themselves well into their golden years like Mae West or even Suzanne Somers by working hard to build an act. They could have some good years in Vegas or similar venues. But, the days of variety shows on tv are gone. Show business has changed.

And then the marketing-branding side of things. OK. That's not new either. And it's hit and miss. The clothing and makeup lines failed. That's not new either. Polly Bergen the actress had quite a side business going on with cosmetics and all kinds of things. But, she was a talented working actress the whole time and never got by on her looks. Raquel Welch, still built like a brick $hit house btw, has been making a fortune with wigs for a long time. Sometimes it works like Jessica Simpson's empire. Sometimes it doesn't. I don't see it happening for these girls. Kim especially. I hope they prove me wrong.

I'm not bashing the chick because it's cool. I have a big soft spot in my heart for the Gabor sisters, Zsa Zsa Gabor especially. I love camp and kitsch and all that stuff. I'm far from being a snob here.

And I have my own nice big ass, so I'm not jealous about that either. I think mine is in better proportion to the rest of me though. I actually owe her and JLo a thanks. I'm 42, short and chubby. But, I'm tellin' ya, my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. I could find another husband if I needed to, which gives me peace of mind. I'm not bragging, I'm just explaining.

Anyhow, sorry if I upset you. I hope you understand my position better now.

 

The train could certainly come off the rails with Kim Kartrashian. I am not doubting that one bit. Her finances are in good order, however. Estimates have her making in excess of 60 million (and as high as 85 million) on her iPhone app alone. She has a saweeeet royalty deal that gets her 45% of earnings, and they are estimating 160-200mm. Her net worth today is estimated to be 50mm and Kanye is closer to 150mm. Odds are that she will one day get a chunk of that in a divorce settlement. I also don't see her going the route of many Hollywood celebs with a drug addiction downfall, nor the route of NBA/ NFLers with bankruptcy filings.

From a purely econ point of view, she is an interesting case study, but the anti-Kardashian sentiment (which I share) shouldn't cast a shadown on her pure capitalistic success. Does it bother me that she rakes in 15mm per year, while teachers, firefighters and cops often make 40k? Absolutely..... In those regards, she is as worthlesss as the rest of Hollywood. I also realize however that military spec-ops soldiers make peanuts, yet the actors that play them make millions "pretending" to recreate what the soldiers have already done. Our values are out of whack.

Nick, history is littered with people who must have worked overtime to go broke, but they did it. I'm not saying she's going to, but, she can. It really doesn't matter how much you make or how much you have today. Nobody is immune. She can lose it. Honey, I was a Citi Bank employee in 2008. I saw one of my co-workers lean over and puke after checking her portfolio, she was getting ready to retire. Or those regular people who invested with Bernie Madoff or any of the other stars featured on American Greed (I love Stacy Keach).

I tell you what though. I was too harsh in my "that's all she has" comment. I should reserve judgement there. I should reach out to Kim and spend some time with her. Maybe she's got all kinds of talents, skills and desires that we have no way of knowing. She's a mother now, really cute kid, that's something. Her family is mostly close, tight knit. That's important. She's gone through tough times like the rest of us. Just because her face doesn't show emotion anymore doesn't mean she can't feel pain. I was too mean.

However, I do stand by my earlier statement that her ass is too big in proportion to the rest of her.

If we're in Vegas at the same time, before I get too much older and my ass goes all to hell, you can judge for yourself. Fully clothed. I won't even cheat and wear the pants that seem to be most popular with the perverts. If you think I've taken a few compliments and flattered myself with them, you can come in here and say "it's a big ass but it's not that nice and I don't think it's even proportional like she claims".

 

The consensus seems to be: It was Photoshopped to shrink her waist which in turn makes her ass look even bigger. Her ass was probably also smoothed out with Photoshop. And the opinion has been for a long time that her ass isn't all hers to begin with, xrays be damned.

As for her success, I guess I am disgusted more by her narcissism than how she makes her money. She has genuine skills as an entrepreneur but just running a successful company wouldn't get her enough attention so it's constant selfies and look at me stunts likes this one. People like Jessica Simpson and Jessica Alba are fronting billion dollar companies but it's come at a cost of not being prominent celebrities. That's something Kim K. couldn't do. And it pisses me off that she demands that she be treated as an A list star just for being famous instead of bringing genuine talent to the table. Although I didn't like that her father represented OJ, I did respect him and I would have hoped his offspring would have lived up to his name.

The reality is that these kids are trust fund babies. I respect that they still hustle instead of living off their dad's cash but they hustle so much that they aren't protecting their brand and that may be what poisons the well.

A couple years ago I stood about 8 feet away from her while she was having photos taken outside of Vanity at the Hard Rock. She's an incredibly beautiful woman and I was surprised by how tiny she was.

I agree with everything you've said here. Easy come, easy go. My prediction is that she sees 200mm before zero..... Her financial empire is massive, and she could fall from relevance (it pains me to even say that she's relevant) and still reap the residual income from the iPhone app and royalties. She also married up, which never hurts.

I've had a few stock picks that crushed my portfolio, erasing broad market gains. Had I played the index fund game, I would have been protected, but alas, I often chose the gamble! Too many celebs and athletes believe that the money train will never end, and overspending eventually catches up with them.

Bottom line is that she is a product of our obsession with Hollywood glam, which baffles me. The en vogue thing is to bash the Kardashians, but I want to bash them for the right reasons..... They have certainly optimized their opportunities and become an empire from social media, reality television and shallow culture.

Her ass is huge, to the point where I'm not attracted to her, and I'm an assman! I'm sure that your "assets" are impressive, and I will gladly take you up on that offer! I'll even buy you the first drink, but only at a video poker bar.

OK Nick. But, this is purely about proving a point. I'm a married woman. Do your assessment, no oogling (my husband pronounces ogling "oogling" because he thinks it should sound more like what it is) and then I'm sure we'll argue about it some more.
