Looking for a good place to stay with three people in one room. Any suggestions or should I just spend the money for two rooms?

Not sure about downtown, but Encore, V/P, Delano are descent rooms for 3 people since you can get 2 queens and a couch.

A 2 BR suite is always best, but it will cost you.

I'll second Delano. Two queens and a couch there is probably going to be your best value.

I'd say Orleans Standard room are the biggest, for the low price...but that's not downtown...
Maybe a cabana suite at El Cortez?

I would say Venetian. The standard rooms are larger than average, as is the bathroom

Encore, cosmo terrace or venetian since they are bigger rooms.

What budget range are you looking at? What is the make-up of the three people? i.e. a couple and someone else. Please provide more detailed info so we can assist better.

As this is posted in the downtown forum, I'm assuming you are not wanting the strip recommendations others have mentioned.

Rio - All Suites has a great couch to sleep on.
May I also recommend any casino you want and request a roll-a-way bed.

    Downtown?
Spring for the 2 or even 3 rooms...any of the Boyd casinos, Plaza or 'theD'.
That will still be less-expensive than most of the strip rooms suggested...and less than a GN, D, or GG suite would run...(with the El Co cabana suites being the only exception).

The group makeup is a 22 year old college student, a 36 year old teacher, and myself 45 (all friends) I told them I would pay for room or rooms. Coming out to Vegas Jan 16-19 (3 nights) and seems to be rates are a lot higher than last year. Trying to keep it in the $600 to 1K range. The last time I came to Vegas and stayed downtown at the Downtown Grand. Loved it but not seeing any kind of deal on rooms right now. Hate paying a lot for rooms but don't want to stay in a small dump though also.

I long ago hit the point where the best room for three people (who have no plans to engage in a little three-play) is three rooms.

Can you pick different dates to save yourself alot of $$$? You picked some of the most expensive dates to be in Vegas. First off, you picked a holiday weekend. But more importantly, the dates you chose run up against some large conventions that cause room rates to skyrocket.

1/18 - 1/22 is Winter Marked with 50,000 expected. The SHOT show is 1/20-1/23 with 67,000 expected. Kitchen & Bath show 1/20-1/23 with 24,000 expected. International Builder show 1/20-1/22 with 55,000 expected. Surfaces 1/21-1/23 with 25,000 expected. AVN 1/21-1/24 with 25,000 expected. Many people attending and setting up these shows arrive a few days early, causing the rates on those dates to rise as well as the show dates.

Just looked up your dates at bconnected... Fremont Hotel...Friday night through Sunday night... $212 per room... so, for 3 rooms, you'd be out $636...but it would probably be less, as getting a Sunday night comped at the Fremont is not too tough.

If you're talking downtown, that's a good spot to get 2 rooms. Do they still open the doors for adjoining rooms?

Downtown, I would do two maybe even 3 rooms depending on where your stay....... For the strip, MGM queen bed suite. It has 2 queen beds and a sectional couch.... the couch may even be a sleeper sofa but i'm not positive on that.

What nostress said. Roll around that King size bed all by yourself. Close your adjoining door when you say goodnight. I'm jealous just thinking about it. It's not as if you have to impress anybody. Yeah, you'll be paying more for your dates than usual. But, if you put that out of your mind and compare it from another perspective, you'll see it as a bargain. I know people have been bashing the 4 Queens lately, but, they should have something in your price range. Where else? Plaza even? You might catch a sale if you keep an eye on it too. Book something and then re-book if it comes down. I caught a good deal Cyber Monday last year. I might re-book a hotel 2 or 3 times before the actual trip if the price comes down. And then I always call them too, sometimes the price come down even more or they throw in a treat like meals. I'm not any kind of comped High Roller or 4 times a year visitor and I do OK with rooms, so I'm sure you can do it.

What Lola said or you could try the Plaza. The rooms are big and if you get two it should be cool.
