biggest dates in vegas

Hello, what are the biggest dates in vegas? I've heard NYE, Super Bowl weekend and Halloween. Is this about right? Any others?

 

March madness

 

A lot of the big conventions cause hotel room rate issues. Like CES (Electronics), NAB (Radio), AVN (Porn), etc. It would seem that the big Rodeo in December is a big deal, likely big fights and races.

I'm not sure how it compares, but fight nights (Mayweather) are always fun. Packed and lively.

 

Is there a site that analyzes hotel capacity duirng these events? I always thought March Madness first weekend was above Labor/Memorial days. But I was just guessing based on personal observation only.

FYI my rankings are from a player's perspective, not a hotel occupancy perspective.

All I track is how hard is it to get the bigger suites and villas and how many reserved tables and how high the limits at the tables.

 

At one time the NFR rodeo brought in some of the most money into Vegas, but it's also spread out over 9 days. SEMA is another big one. Oddly enough the concrete convention is quite large too.

I don't know where it would rank but Cinco de Mayo/Derby weekend should be in there, especially from an occupancy perspective.

 

Yes that's also big because of the boxing.

Also second weekend in Sep with Mexican independence day and again boxing.

I actually read somewhere that Memorial Day and NYE have the highest occupancy rates. Now, Shifter is probably right on when gamblers come to town.

 

NYE by far... then all the major holidays Memorial Day, Labor Day, March Madness and Superbowl.

Lately, almost any weekend is pretty insane... I've been 4x this year, and all the weekends were REALLY busy, and expensive. Maybe it's just the ones I happened to pick.. but it's definitely picked up in Vegas since last year.

I went during the Superbowl once and didn't think it was that bad.. nor was my room rate. But, that might of been during the deep recession (2008?)... also because it's a Sunday, I think it's slightly less of a draw.

Also just because I go so much. I've noticed May and September tend to be super busy and the rates are really high. Not just on the holidays. We go the last week of September almost every year for Barrett Jackson and it's always a zoo and very hard to get a room. I think as said above, usually a fight combined with awards shows, and conventions and concerts...

 

Room rates aren't too crazy yet for super bowl. Last year I was getting offers for a really cheap room at New York New York plus tickets to their party but I already had a valentines trip planned. I'm heading to lv for super bowl this year, I'm really excited but also anxious about being priced out of a lot of tables. I figure Saturd and Sunday will be crazy and in Monday table minimums return to normal?
