We're booked in a Forum Tower at Caesars from Oct 31 - Nov 4, with a somewhat 'better' rate using our Total Rewards cards. Stayed there two other times, once a couple years ago in February when we booked a Forum Tower (comp) and ended up being downgraded to what likely was one of the worst rooms ever in the Roman Tower. Was there in April for a conference in the Palace Tower and was upgraded to a small suite (I think?, it had two bathrooms with a shared shower) with $20 at check in. That was a Wednesday - Saturday stay.

I'm hoping for an upgrade when we check in on Friday but was wondering what to ask for. Newer towers? Which one is best? Room is more important to us than view. We are scheduled to check in late afternoon so I'm hoping some decent rooms will be available but I also know it's a busy weekend with Halloween and a big conference next week.

Advice? I'm hoping for something a little nicer this trip since we got downgraded into a Flamingo Fab room last stay, and even though we usually love the Flamingo I did not love that room. (Gross bathroom.)

    Thanks!

I would ask for a room in the Augustus or Octavius Tower. I prefer the Augustus to Octavius because the rooms are a little bigger, better views, and better location.

    Have fun!

I like the Forum Tower. Rooms were redone just a few years ago and done nice imo. Also like where the elevator is.

+1 but to be fair, I've never stayed in the Forum Tower so I cannot comment on the rooms there but I absolutely loved my Augustus tower room..

Have stayed in Forum, Palace & Octavius Towers. Forum is decent, they have been renovated, modern decor, since we stayed. Views mountains, half another tower. LOVED our Palace Tower deluxe room--elevator opens directly to pool area, biggest bathroom we have ever had in any hotel anywhere. Octavius was very nice but a long walk down a long hall. Palace Tower may have been just as long of a walk, but not a straight line.
Forum is nice. Palace, Augustus & Octavius are a notch up--you can't go wrong.
Halloween weekend is a very busy weekend, so any upgrade would be pretty lucky.

I also suggest the Augustus Tower because of the location.

Stayed in the Forum Tower during our September trip. As others noted rooms are recently re-done. Very close to casino, with easy access to the rooms. Couldn't score an upgrade on a Tuesday in September. ( We're Platinum). Good luck with your upgrade.

It's the first two sets of elevators down the hallway just off the lobby.

Thought it was a joke. So there isn't much good about the location vs the Forum Towers location as an example.

Just stayed in Forum 6403, nicely updated 2 queen room...great view, elevators drop you into the Casino near Gordon Ramsay.. a walk to Augustus to use the Spa (gym) and pools, so if pools are what you are about and ease of access to strip then Augustus, if Casino, then Forum (IMHO)...it was my first time in this huge place, I honestly would take either location. For me, I could walk from the lobby to the far end of the casino by the entrance to Forum shops and back in less than 6 minutes briskly; I know because I left my card in my favorite VP machine.

See my recent TR for a view of my room.

It's closer to the lobby and the street.

What's so good about the location?

Between the Octavious & Augustus, the Augustus Tower doesn't seem so far away from everything with easier access to the strip.

I guess that's good if your in a hurry to leave. I don't hang around the lobby so it not an advantage for me.

You could hang around the SLS lobby, it is much easier and quicker to get around to the Strip from there. Even walking from SLS to the Monorail is quicker than going from Gordon Ramsey to Pure.
There's no comparison between SLS and Caesar's, the location of SLS is far superior to Caesar's. Walking around Caesar's caused me a stroke, i should have learned my lesson..........SLS prevents strokes. Hail Sam!!!

Yes shok, it was. Just making a humorous comment on the difference between a property location and a geographical location. I have stayed at Caesar's and played there since the 70's. Some people complain that Caesar's and MGM are just too big, yet walk on the Strip to see the Fountains and then walk a mile to see the Seasonal Gardens or catch a Tram at Bellagio to to Aria or Monte Carlo on the same property. Or some people will walk over to Venitian/Palazzo a few blocks away but add another mile walking the Shops.
You are going to do a lot of walking no matter what property you're on.

SLS and the North Strip on the other hand, is geographical. Most people don't walk the Strip from Wynn up to SLS. and back. Most tourists, if they use the bus, only then go Downtown. I have seen it firsthand when i was in Vegas in August. I talked to bus passengers saying they were't interested in Sahara, SLS, Riviera, etc. They avoided the North Strip like it was the plague.

It's all perception. Walking from Wynn to Mandalay Bay is further than walking from Wynn to SLS. But most people don't look at it like that. You can walk from Wynn south because there are so many things to see and do along the way. It's all a distraction. That's why Wynn, Palazzo, CET, and MGM are successful on the Strip.........they distract. That's what Wyyn did when he built the Fountains at Bellagio, or built a Volcano......to distract. That's why there's a giant Ferris Wheel and a Central Park and Stadium........to distract you but in a good way.

Walking from Wynn to SLS is different, especially since many of the hotels like Stardust, Desert Inn, and Sands are no longer there to fill the void. There's nothing to distract you on the way to SLS making the walk more bearable.

I do hope SLS stays afloat till Resorts World comes on board. Then that piece of land called the "Strip" will truly be like it used to, and flourish. Then there will be something to "distract" you in a good way along the way.

So do I. That will help but I'm not sure they will be able to hold on that long. Have they even broke ground on RW yet?
