While playing craps I think that would add another meaning to a hard six? Sorry went for the cheap joke.

Yes! This. All those points are important in my opinion. I would incorporate two more things. Water. And greenery. Water in the form of gentle waterfalls here and there in the casino and greenery throughout, similar to how the Mirage was when it first opened. Water and the sounds it makes is soothing and the greenery is gentle to the eyes. A relaxing oasis, not necessarily groundbreaking as far as originality but sorely missed in todays casinos that focus on boom-boom music and glaring aesthetics.

The drink servers (men and women) will be bright, cheerful, energetic ambassadors of the hotel, skilled in customer service and satisfaction. They will be attractive not only in looks but also because of their outgoing personalities. They will take drink orders and also push around a cart with the popular domestic and foreign bottled beers chilled on ice for instant drink service. ( This was borrowed from the old Lady Luck. As I mentioned, a lot of good things have gone and need to be brought back!) The men would be dressed in fitted polo shirts and khaki shorts and the women will be clad in sensual bikini tops and sarongs, complimenting the tropical theme. Fresh flowers in their hair. Smiles will be given freely. Polite greetings and Thank You's will be the order of the day.

24 hr. buffet. Nothing fancy. No Bacchanal, Wicked Spoon, or Studio B. Just good, solid, fresh tasting food. Food will be changed out regularly for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Graveyard. $4.99. All the time. Other restaurants will be available throughout the resort complex. This buffet is designed for quick eats then back to the tables or machines!

The dealers, pit critters, hosts, supervisors, and casino managers will be cordial, friendly, and trained to remember loyal customers. They will deal with comps fairly, based on play, and will have the leeway to issue on the spot comps if so warranted. They realize that they will not be able to please everyone, but will do their best and try.

Those patrons who prove to be difficult, demanding, offensive, and disruptive, will kindly be grabbed by the throat, taken out to the desert, and promptly buried, never to be seen again. Sorry, but kindness should never be seen as a sign of weakness, and they will find this out. Real fast. :evillaugh

Oh by the way, the name of my Resort/Casino is called "Electroguy's Tropical Oasis". :poke:

BlacklabberMike, flguyfl, and Electroguy563 have certainly described my ideal casino! I'd add always having a variety of low limit table games with decent rules and payouts. No, I'm not personally interested in playing at $3 tables, but that's how you attract gambling newbies and convert slot players. Many folks aren't anxious to learn at $15 and higher limits.

Maybe they could include some fun "lounge acts" in the casino. The Four Queens used to have a small stage where the bar now sits on the east end. It was fun watching Frank Sinatra Jr. and band performing while playing BJ. Likewise, the Sunspots performing on stage in the Plaza's casino were always entertaining and made for a totally fun experience. I'm sure there are many other examples, but I'm not holding my breath for casino acts to return. From the Dixie song, "Old times there are not forgotten!"

Sorry – it's already been (mostly) done with Bob Stupak's Vegas World in 1979, suspended space shuttle and planets included. The space theme wasn't exactly a success, was abandoned, and became the Stratosphere . Then LVH closed its Star Trek Experience last year. Good try, though!

Yeah I like this idea too. I'd have a huge amount of old school impersonators too, working as dealers, at the front desk, security, hostesses and waitresses. There have to be enough unemployed actors out there to fulfill this. And, I'd have one small slot room dedicated to coin machines - people seem to like them still. :)

After Paris and The Venetian I think it's time for "Catalunya", a resort based on all the architecture and art the city of Barcelona has to offer. With a replica version of La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's art, mosaic, a replica of Nou Camp Stadium, FC Barcelona merchandise, Spanish Tapas restaurants, Sangria, Flamengo dancers, etc. I'd go there :)

Good Suggestions all, Ilike the idea of old school and classy, I would have top notch cocktail and dealer service both male and female. The best bar top VP as well as slots with the best paytables on the strip. Sportsbook with the best HD-4K TV's and built to resemble a stadium, Low limit tables available, Good Quality resturants and Buffet but not over the Top, no need for $100 steaks. Would have indoor atrium and pool along with outdoor pool on the roof . Tops optional :wink2: I would have several entertainment options with best comedians, lounge act, magic act, and book top touring bands for monthly rotations throughout the year. There will also be a dress code no tanktops, or cutoffs. No obnoxious loud EDM :grrr: where you cant even have a conversation. The entire top half would be the Rooms , clean and efficent not to big or too small and entire top of hotel will rotate slow to provide a panoramic views and a complete rotation every 24 hours.

I would have one themed on the sun. Chichen Itza near Cancun has a pyramid that lines up with the sun every equinox. On the movie Castaway he made a bit of a calendar based on the sun hitting the side of the cave. I would have a property where the sun creates effects through mirrors, prisms, and windows. There would be the two Solstice pools and the Equinox pool. The 24 hour cafe would be called The Meadows, with Las Vegas history on the walls.

The casino? Oh, that's right. This thread isn't about gambling. It's about theme.

A lot of people go to Las Vegas for the sun, the weather. I would embrace it.

I thought Jazz age/speakeasy/bordello theme would be great. dealers in the green clear visors and rolled up sleeves. Cocktail waitresses in flapper dresses. Party pit dealers in corsets and stockings. Swing music playing over the speakers. Lots of wood/leather/velvet in the decor. I think it work as a boutique casino with a minimal dress code.

I think a place that rotated its theme.
Maybe every 6 months the theme could change.
    Here are some ideas.
    A Caribbean theme.
    A sports theme.
    A pirate theme
    A James Bond theme.
    ....

How about an Atlantic City themed Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Atlantic City Resort and Casino, re-imagined.

It would be a beautiful collection of shops and restaurants and casino parlors situated along a pristine wooden walkway boarded by a giant wave pool that would simulate the magnificent Atlantic Ocean
    .
Where the stars in the night sky would only be paled by world renowned stars and performer that would grace it’s stages and lounges with a song and a dance for every taste and budget.

Where lounges, restaurants and buffets would be open and busy 24/7, not just on the weekends.

Where tour guides would tout the history of this once fabulous East Coast city where so much of our country’s “growing pains” and character, both honorable and not so much, took shape.

Where in the “Days gone by” exhibition hall, great murals would be painted of crowds of people rushing to it shoreline, cash in hand, representing a fraction of the millions living a mere two hour car ride away from the city’s hub. Some even depicting the waves of workers finding decent and sustaining employment sharing the wonders of their great city with the world’s visitors.

Where current dealers and bosses would represent with style and enthusiasm, the ghost of casino pioneers, underground and illegal, as they developed their skills and waited, with great anticipation till in 1978, this much loved pastime saw the light of day in a new era of growth and unstoppable riches.

Where young executives and city planners would come to learn of great planning strategies and reinvestment decisions that stood up to any neighboring state’s competition.

Where those who for generations played and romped on its natural beaches, instead of a short ride in a car, bus or train ride, now take a five hour plane ride to go and see what could have been.

Where restrooms would be named for those, who through greed and corruption pissed it all away.

My ,Oh My…Forgive me for editorializing a fun thread, …much too depressing, noboby would come... it pains me to see what’s happening to my childhood (way before 1978)playground…again!

These are all pretty good ideas. I like the Spain one the best. A wrestling casino would be awesome I mean if Hooters still has one come on Vince open it up. You could make old legend wrestlers the hosts at the casino. Like Brutus the Barber would be a great host. Iron Sheik could just wander the casino talking about Hulk Hogan.

I like everybody's old school ideas for a casino too. I asked this question to start the forum because I really like themed casinos. These new casinos that are opening and aren't "themed" really bore me to death. I dont care how nice they are. Since the gambling sucks on the strip now I really just liked looking at the different casinos. Honestly it is sad for how long the north area of the strip has been empty plots of land. To just have empty land and fences around it scribbled with graffiti looks like crap.

I would rebuild an old classic casino exact blueprints. Stardust again or maybe Sands. This all just Fantasy land talk but a person can dream.
