It will be days before I get to write up a trip report, so I figured that for now I would just post pictures of the new downtown market which opened Oct 9. It is right across from El Cortez and just a short block from the container park. It is about 90% up and running, but there were a couple of things that were not yet stocked, including their coffee service.

This is going to make the El Cortez a super-handy frugal / healthy choice room camping option. It may change the way I vacation!

...it will be great to have a market close by with a wide selection of drinks, snacks and even meals (sandwiches) and not have to pay the high mark ups you would/will see at a casino convenience store...

Thanks for posting! Nice to see they'll be serving Stumptown coffee.

This is great to see. Sometimes a Kick Ass Sandwich or a little bowl of pasta salad is all you need. Being close to the El Cortez will be perfect for morning coffee!

    Thanks for posting the pics.

Looks pretty cool. A nice alternative to restaurant dining.

Thanks for these pics... it looks nice!!! If I recall though, the buildings owners booted the former market that made some pretty darn good sandwiches. They've moved to a location a little further into the hood. This place appears more apropos for the new residents of the area.

Great to know. Guess I may just stop there to pickup some water and snacks for the room in December.

Was there this week. Nice little market - lots of prepared foods, decent dairy section, coffee bar, "healthy" snacks, some bulk items(nuts, trail mix, etc.) Also a very small produce section. Oh, they also sell alcohol....

What were their alcohol prices like? Since they're probably expecting their customer base to be tourists who can't/won't leave the resort district to go to a Food-4-Less, I'd expect $25-$30 for 750ml bottles of booze and $10 6-packs of Budweiser.
