Friends are staying at Aria and would love to get the buffets. What do they check on the rewards now, could I just show their room key?
Thanks for any experiences on this.

If you are trying to get the buffet charged to the player's cards points, the way CET does it is require both Player's Card and matching ID.

When I picked up a reward in April I needed ID and mLife card.

I thought I read they were asking for confirmation numbers, not room keys. Anyone could get a room key easy, I doubt they will ever go that route.

Buffets will probably be loaded onto YOUR mlife card. But I'm not sure if their computers keep track of room reservations for all mlife members via their mlife numbers or not. It's definitely possible though.

If you are not listed on your friends room, you won't be able to get the buffet.

Everybody is guessing on what the question is, but....

The room key itself tells the desk nothing. Heck, it could be a room key from last year for all they know. If you are trying to use their express comps, it will not work. Need their players card and their ID. If charging to their room, you need to be on the room, which they could do.

Or, you could just pay yourself. No room key needed.

If your friend is redeeming the buffet voucher and it states that they need to be staying at that specific casino. In order for them to redeem it.. You must go to front desk and add each of their names onto your reservation. Once they're in the system.. Only then can they head over to that mlife desk at that specific property to redeem their voucher. They'll be asked to hand over their ID as Mlife card and the person helping you will look them up to confirm that they are, in fact, staying with you. They'll ask for your redeem code and have those printed out for u there as well.

    Valid point.
Even though this is the "My Vegas" forum, the original post did not make it clear that you were trying to redeem your reward, their reward, his comp, your comp, express comps or what. Actually, the wording was confusing as to who was going to get the buffet and who would be there to "redeem" whose.

I think pretty much, you've got all the different answers to every interpretation of the question.

Lol yep.. And I just realized I've misread the question thinking the friend was the one who wants to redeem the buffet. Doh!

I will take a stab at this thing. I suppose it depends on which redemption you are going for. If you are redeeming for the "must be a guest of an MGM property" a room key wouldn't work. From what I have read they will check in their systems and your name has to be on the room.

I redeemed a buy one get one for the Bellagio buffet but was staying at the Cromwell. No problems whatsoever you just needed your Mlife card, ID and confirmation number.

I suppose if you wanted to test your luck you could say your friend/lover whatever angle you wanted to play booked the room and you have the Mlife card. Doubt that would work though.

Just throwing this out there because everyone has mentioned getting your name added to the guest list. If you got added to the room they would probably incur extra person charges. My initial reaction was to just have them add your name to the room but that would probably mean an extra $20-30 a night (unless they're staying on a comp then it might be treated differently).

I wasn't charged. And you are correct that if you add people onto your reservation they will charge you. I planned on explaining that to the receptionist upon checkout in hopes that they would waive the fee.. But when I checked out.. There were no fees to begin with. I am unsure if an individual's Mlife status has anything to do with it.

They definitely check to see if your name is on the room. They go by your confirmation number and look up the names on the room that way. Even if you only have your hotel and room number, they had to reverse look up the confirmation number to put the reward in the computer. It was this way a month ago.

    What they said.

I just got back from Vegas about an hour ago. My friend couldn't get his MyVegas rewards until I added his name to the reservation at the front desk. Once that was done, voila!
