We may have a last minute travller with us for our trip in October. He will likely be rooming alone, which means no splitting room rates.

I have him covered with two comp nights I just got from Cosmo for Sunday and Monday. But Saturday and Sunday are $900 total there. I can get him into MC for $400plus fees tax.

Or the quad for $328 total for the two nights. I have never stayed there but I hear they have been renovating the rooms.

Can anyone speak to quality? Those old IP rooms were awful iirc.

Just needs a clean place to sleep and shower

    We are at caesars.
    Thanks.

Until I see one of the LinQ's renovated rooms, the room there are still considered the old IP rooms to me. Worn and dated describe an IP room best. But, if they could guarantee one of the renovated LinQ rooms, I don't see it being an issue.

I think it depends on more if your friend is more of the "just a place to sleep, shit, shower, and shave" type person. Personally, until the new rooms are definately online, I'd stay somewhere else, especially if it's a property I consider a nicer quality.

Well, won't it be remodeled by then? If so then, yes. Otherwise no.

Have you checked all your options? SmarterVegas.com, hotwire, priceline? Might be able to do a little better...

It won't be fully remodeled until Nov. I think.

The Quad is definitely not a great place. But we've survived in it. Definitely check smartervegas for codes too. How much is harrahs or flamingo?

Flamingo is a bit more, but not too much, didnt check Harrah's; That used to be my regular hotel for a few years. ......

Looks to be $250 plus, so the about the same $329 for the two nights...and flamingo was about $80 more than that

I've never actually stayed at Harrahs but I doubt the rooms could be worse than quad rooms before renovation.

Harrah's rooms are fine..at least the ones they've put me in. Nothing special but good enough and clean. Think you're really rolling the dice more if you go with Quad.

having seen pics of pre-renovation quad rooms (aka IP), Harrah's is 1000x nicer, never had a bad stay in Harrah's

I'd say Harrah's over IP any day.

just returned from 4 nites at Harrahs Mardi Gras Tower. Room was great. Harrahs is a very convenient location and next week they will be opening their Food Emporium for quick bites.

I would try to avoid IP rooms, no matter what they are called now.

My only complaint about Harrah's was when I checked in at about 10am on a Wednesday, they had ONE person working the registration desk...not just the kiosk, the entire desk. She was trying to cover the VIP line (plat/diamond) and the normal line. After about an hour and a half of waiting, someone else showed up and the line started to move ok.

That was really my only complaint with the stay there.

Anyone know why they decided to spell it LinQ and not Link? Just curious if there was a reason for it

So, my friend wound up getting a cheaper rate at Harrah's without a TR card on the TR website, then I could get withmy TR card...go figure...

so he is one night there and then using my 2 nite comp at Cosmo (which I assume is a teaser comp given my play wasnt that much last trip...)

I think the main question is who is paying for this hotel. I mean
if you are paying he should be lucky to get any thing. I have not
been to the Quad but a number of years ago I used to stay at
the IP all the time. Don't judge me. I was young and it was a cheap
stay in a great location. Will Casino Royal be renting rooms? I
remember it being an affordable joint.

I actually don't see a reason to complain with this. They don't recognize 10am as a check-in time so they aren't going to staff for a large number of check-ins at 10am on a Wednesday. When it comes to checking out, so many people use Express Check-out that they don't really need to staff for that either. If it really was an hour and a half wait before somebody else showed up, then that would put it at 11:30am and and they would begin the staffing for the check-in since a lot of people do like to check in between the check-out time and the beginning of the official check-in time of 3pm.

If all your friend needs is a clean room to put his things in and sleep, then the Quad rooms will be fine. However, if Harrah's is going to be the same price, then I'd definitely book Harrah's for him instead. $328 for 2 nights at the Quad, even on a weekend, sounds a bit much. At the same time, I personally can't imagine Flamingo being $80 more than Harrah's if we're comparing standard room vs. standard room.
